The Allegiance ASW frigate. The NCA's latest tool in stopping menacing submarine swarms.
About this creation

The Allegiance frigate is the product of an ongoing project to eliminate the grave vulnerability to submarines the NCA navy has. Increased submarine designs as well as ASW (anti-submarine warfare) vessels like this are steadily closing that gap.

On the forward, it carries 3 pairs of 5Ē longbarrel cannons for surface combat. It can defend itself against other ships even though this is not its focus. IT also carries 16 VLS tubes loaded with our new anti-submarine VLS missile. These missiles climb to about 1000ft, cruise to target, then dive near vertical down towards the sub. They impact the water and then behave like a supercavitating torpedo, proceeding to the sub and killing it.

The main weapons decks are where the real firepower of this vessel is, It has minelaying drop tables and launch racks for depth charges and torpedoes. Is this the best way to deploy torpedoes? Probably not. Is it the coolest way to deploy torpedoes? Most likely. Itís the same with the mines. Should they have the anchor weights attached? Technically no. Does it look cooler? Most definitely.
That area with more depth charges is an elevator, used to bring more ordinance up to the deck to reload the racks.
Defensive armament time! This thing is defended by 8 SAM turrets, 16 CIWS guns, and 20 ALDS emitters. It also has two more cannon turrets on the rear as well as a helipad.

Some people wanted to see below the waterline on my stuff so wish granted. I built a full hull for the Allegiance just to show what most NCA ships look like below the watter. On the bow you can see the sonar bulge and some lateral control engines, used for strafing sideways. Very handy to use when docking. There are also some mysterious covers on the hull by the stabilizer trimaran hulls. More on that later. ;)

Well, thatís what they are folks, more torpedo tubes. Just in case the awesome launch racks arenít working for ya.

The ship uses an impeller drive water jet system which has limited lateral pivot. You can also see more control drives and the intakes (better picture forthcoming).

Here is the promised better picture of the intakes and control engines (just imagine a tiny prop in there. LEGO just doesnít make one that size).

I want to get this rendered (it is one of my better ships) but that takes time so please be patient for the rendered posting.

This is my 2nd most popular work. Why? Cool as it is, and though I put a good bit of effort into it, the showcase isn't great and there's a lot I could do to it. How did this get up there?

loved the ship, however have to nitpickI believe that the forward turret is too far foward at the bow, besides afecting the center of gravity, In rough seas the force of the water over the bow will bend the cannon tubes. However it sures looks cool.

Another great ship! All the weapons are splendid. At least on MOCpages I know we can see your stuff. New FLickr still is not functioning well for me.

Quoting jack kenyon This looks like a fearsome anti submarine vessel, but frigate? As I said before, this need reclassify to the medium ships slot. By the scaling of the CIWS guns, this thing is almost as, if not bigger than my Hades. (With considerably greater armament)
Isn't a frigate a medium ship? I'm running it as med. ship as it's about the same size as the Aegis cruiser.

Ha, whatever you say..... You really do a good job on making each ship look, busy. Maybe because of the compactness, I dunno. Still though, once again, 5/5.

Quoting Achintya Prasad As usual Zack, you have produced a way over armed, yet well thought out, ship. Can't wait to see those renderings! I fear for any enemies you have.....
Overarmed? I went lightly on the defensives! I did go plentifully on the launch racks because, well, those look very cool and that was really the main goal here.
