Hades Class Heavy Destroyer
Gaufran Proudly presents our first indigenous naval vessel, the Hades class Heavy Destroyer. Named after the Greek God of Death and the underworld, who wore a helmet that made him invisible. He was so feared that people never spoke his name, fearing he would wreak death and destruction upon them. Like their namesake, these ships are silent, deadly, and utterly invisible to most forms of detection.
About this creation

Front view showing the construction methods used on the hull. The Hades uses an advanced, trimaran, wave-piercing hull with four powerful water-jets, two in the hull, and one in each outrigger.

A top view showing the unique hull shape, and clean, stealthy lines, as well as the armament.

The main Armament is a pair of turret mounted 400mm railguns. The Hades uses these to pummel large enemy ships, as well as coastal fortifications and ground targets.

The bridge, showing off the recessed panels that conceal the sensors and radars. I love how the camo came out on this area of the ship. The ceremonial flags are removed for combat. This image shows off the ALDS turrets (in black RAM domes) which can melt enemy missiles form 30 km away.

The top of the bridge, giving a close up of the ALDS turrets and 27mm Tri-barreled Gauss CIWS guns. these have a ten kilometer range and a fire rate of 400 RPM.
The vessels stealth doesn't stop at clean lines and folding weaponry though. the whole ship is coated in an advanced composite RAM, that absorbs radar waves and insulates the ship's heat signature.

The 220mm Coilguns are for use against light ships such as frigates, or ground targets.
Here you can clearly see the shielded cooling vents for the fusion reactor, which help to mask the thermal signature of the vessel.

SQUIRREL!

The Large Heli-pad. I now love SNOT techniques. The pad is protected by two more CIWS turrets in stealth pods. they should fold in, but yeah...

Although the standard compliment is two Sea Nester Troop transport Helicopters, the enormous Sea Griffon can be carried.

Guess which Helicopter I based it off.

The fragile build of the rotor.

The camo on the other side. The ship also uses a form of optical camo, whereby it tricks the lens of the eye, or cameras, into seeing what is all around it. this is most effective on ships or aeroplanes.

The camo continues acrss the deck. this was a pain, but totally worth it

All the Guns are in stealth turrets. This is sort of how the main guns would look concealed. In real life, there would be no gaps.

The hull shape from bellow. This was the hardest part of the build, especially making it rigid. (this is actually vertical)

The bulbous bow again.

The outlet for two of the water-jets. 6 small rudders allow it to sail into shallow water, while still turning on a dime.

Two weapons bays open up to deploy torpedoes, mines, depth charges or towed sonar arrays from an internal autoloader.

The intakes for the water-jets. The onboard fusion reactor powers an all electric drive system, that is incredibly quiet and powerful.

The Stern again. The Hull is coated in a rubberized material that muffles sonar. vents shroud it is microscopic bubbles that further disrupt sonar returns.

The Money shot. Hades unleashing the fury of tartarus on his (her) enemies.

The stats:

Quoting Daniel Bozarth i love the camo on this ship. You make it look just plain awesome. Also, great job with the underside of the ship, most people don't remember it exists.
Thanks, I had a long, frustrating (but very fun) time building this, and the camo was the best bit.

Very Good. I liked the design on the hull. And, I hate to nitpick, put Thanatos was the Greek deity of Death, not Hades.

Quoting Zach Eli "Sierra" Sykes Only nitpick I have is the elevated coilguns and the hull. The trimaran stabilizers don't look far enough out to be of much use (though I'm open te being proved wrong here). The coilguns are very high up. That gives excellent range and FoV but it does create some problems when small ships get in close. 400mm railgun turrets I imagine are slow to turn and reload and with those coilguns so high up, there could be difficulties. All in all, more than a well and worthy opponent on the high seas.
Do you think enemy vessels will get that close? Anyway, small, nimble boats, like rib boats or patrol ships, can be dispensed of by the CIWS guns and lasers. The hull isn't that wide, no. The stabilisers are to aid propulsion, and to stop the tumbledown hull from capsizing when damaged.

Yoe were right when you said it looks smaller on pictures, but it looks really solid and stealthy. This is pretty much a Zummwalt with some of your ideas, like the trimaran hull, which improves its stability. Nice build once again!

Quoting Nightmaresquid º In my opinion probably the best ship in D&C. Its amazing how far you progressed in such a short time. Your tyrant tanks from a year back cant compare to this whatsoever. The helideck, and camouflage are some excellent techniques. What's best about this is that its IRL, and in my opinion LDD cant show off a creation nearly as good as real bricks, even with POV. 5*
Thanks, I was considering giving up lego about a year back, but then I found the wargaming groups, and it gave me something to work for. Now I am really into it again, and have been working really hard to improve my techniques and photography. This feedback means a lot, thanks.

Even though my USS Enterprise (CVN-80) will be much larger than this, I doubt I will be able to even come close to the level of expertise, and detail, you have managed with this glorious vessel. I always have an eye out for a really good, solid ship, and this is truly impressive! Are there any plans for a large scale carrier?
