VK 16.02 Leopard (World of Tanks)
at last, I got my Ebay tread order! Here is some historical info: The VK 1602 was developed from March through October 1942. The plans were to launch mass production in April 1943, but the project was canceled before the first prototype was built. The leopard shared the same turret as the Sd.Kfz.234/2 Puma, a heavy armored car. Armament: 1 50mm L/60 cannon 1 7.92mm MG42 Top speed: 60 km/h Range: 560 kilometers Weight: 21900 kg

Quoting Jerry Temple Can't find the chicken...Is this the Leopard MBT or Leopard light?
This is the VK 16.02 Leopard scout tank. The other Leopard is the Leopard 2A4. This Leopard practically looks like half a Panther with a pz. II L turret slapped on top. The chicken is in the 5th picture from the bottom.

Well done, I like how you used the pieces you had to make that little turret with all its annoying angles! Chicken has been sighted, prepare to fire!

Quoting lone wolf Man you are pumping tanks out fast, yet still able to pay attention to detail! Very accurate, only thing that could be bettter is a uni color scheme. I really need to get a bricklink order in so I can keep up...
yep. Next: T-34/57! almost done.

Quoting Alex Sonny This is awesome, I love the wide tracks and the overlapping wheels. The turret looks accurate as well and the rear tanks are spot on. Next step: Aufkl. Panther :D
mebbe I'll do the VK 28.01 first... but if I do the aufkl. panther, then I can make a panther, and a jagdpanther, and a G.W. panther...

I had a serious shortage of them until a few days ago :P you can order them on Ebay or Bricklink.

Quoting Builder Allan (Ding) The chicken is in the photo below the in-game shot? :-D Great build, very nice work keeping the whole tank in a relatively compact size while still keeping a high level of detail. My tanks usually end up oversized to accomodate the details i want! Really nice bit of history too. It's always fun to read facts about historical builds :-)
correct! thanks.

Quoting cyberfrank 2010 very cool tank with lots of details! I m always interested in historical info, so, why was it canceled? I really appreciate these facts on builds based on reality, it s a nice touch for that type of builds, like walt Disney once said there is nothing like being entertained in learning! can t wait to see your fig scaled next project, I like them better with figs!
I forgot to pose it with my SS officer :P I believe the VK 16.02 project was canceled because of its heavy weight and lack of substantial armament, and recon panzer V panthers could be produced at a lower cost.

Quoting Banana Sniper I love the shape of the turret! Btw, what does SNOT stand for?
Studs Not On Top. the turret took me a few maddening, frustrating days until I was done with it.

First I thought you mixed it up with the modern Leopard tank. Never heard about that tank-type. I will consult Wikipedia now. :) Very well build with lots of details. Im not sure if the used colors are historical correct. Who cares. Great build!

Quoting omega (rich) very nice. just out of curiosity, does it hold a mini-fig inside? even if it doesn't, its still an awesome creation.
no, the turret is entirely SNOT. I did make an SS officer to stick in the turret, though. fitting figs in the tank will probably be in my next tank.
