About this creation
Crazy Awesome...has...RETURNED!!! (Thunderous cheering and applause)

In reality, however, I am well aware that most of you are probably going "Crazy who?" and have most likely forgotten my glory days of LDD Halo creations and terribly crappy Bionicle MOCs. But no fear, constant reader! You are in for a treat today.

I've begun the League of Guardians now: my first creation being Curatos, my self-moc and leader of the League, and every subsequent Toa I put out will be a member as well. I wanted to focus on Toa with lesser known elements, like Plantlife (now known as the Green for some odd reason), Plasma, Iron, Psionics, and so on. I plan to build Chiara, Zaria, and Orde at some point, but I'm starting with Plantlife today, in the form of Toa Bovema. He was originally going to be a BioCup entry, but I got back from vacation too late to make the deadline of July 1.

NAME: Bovema
GENDER: Male
SPECIES: Matoran, Toa
TITLES: Toa Bovema, Toa of Plantlife, Bovema of the Green, the Bull
OCCUPATION: Senior member of the League of Guardians, and a Guardian of Spherus Magna
ELEMENTS: Plantlife/the Green
MASK: Kanohi Amorax, Mask of Rage
WEAPONS: Arm-mounted Vine Whips, the Leafblade
MOC STATUS: Assembled

STORY: Bovema started out as a Matoran in the Southern Islands, and was transformed into a Toa after another had given his power to Bovema and five others, to begin a Toa Team. However, due to the chaotic nature of the Southern Islands and the perils that lie waiting around every corner, the team decided to split up and focus each of their energies on one of the 6 islands forming a chain. What came after that was disastrous: the Toa of Ice was ruthlessly murdered by a traveling Dark Hunter, the Toa of Water ended up drowning in the lake named after her after a savage beast dragged her in, the Toa of Iron was crushed by a Makuta's magnetic powers and the Toa of Psionics went mad and was never seen again. Bovema had barely escaped with his life after picking off nearly 100 Visorak spiders and patrolling Rahkshi before finally escaping the island, abandoning the Matoran who depended on him so dearly and also his last surviving team member, a Toa of Fire. It was also at this point that Bovema acquired the piece of armor from a fallen Vortixx soldier, which he wears on his head as a "crown."

Bovema eventually arrived at the island of Karzahni, and took refuge there for the next few hundred years. He hunted anything from Rahi to Rahkshi, but never killed any of them, instead preferring to snare them in vines so that the Matoran could make use of them. He grew deeply connected to his element, and would feel the pain of the dying plants around him as well as experience full might when nature stood by his side. Eventually he decided to return to the Southern Islands where he once lived, around the time Teridax had taken over the Great Spirit Robot. Instead of seeing the slaughtered remains of the villages like he expected, he was instead amazed by the hundreds of thousands of Rahkshi amassing an army. Enraged, Bovema challenged hundreds of Rahkshi alone, but he still insisted on snaring them and rendering them immobile instead of killing them. In an act of might, Bovema single-handedly trapped fifty thousand Rahkshi of Heat Vision in the thickest forest he could create, bordering the entire island in incredibly dense trees. One poor Rahkshi attempted to escape, but accidentally set the entire forest on fire, killing all fifty thousand Rahkshi in the process. Bovema collapsed from the energy drain but hid himself in dense foliage before going unconscious.

When Bovema woke up, Spherus Magna was whole again and thriving with lush jungles. Bovema was happy to be alive and immediately set to work helping his brothers set up camps. The League of Guardians program began, and Vezon was tasked with searching for Toa in alternate universes that could be admitted into the League. Bovema was one of the few members of the League to be from the primary universe, as most of his brothers and sisters came from alternate dimensions. Bovema was also the only member to refuse Protosteel armor plating, instead preferring to armor himself in plantlife so that he could be more in-tune with his element (the chest plate, however, was given to him at Curatos's insistence). Bovema likes to boast about his accomplishments as a Toa and remarks that while he still may be old, his skill and mastery of his element gives him another few hundred years to fight in the League.

As a Toa of the Green on Spherus Magna, Bovema is always near his element and is therefore a very powerful adversary wherever he may be. He has the power to create or destroy plants around him, absorb plantlife energy, or use plantlife around him to his will. His Mask of Rage sends him into a state of berserk rage, making him almost unstoppable from frontal attacks but leaving his backside vulnerable to attack.

Lower legs. Bovema doesn't have "feet' in the sense that his legs end in stumps...kind of like a tree does. I mean, you see the resemblance, right? Anyone? Guess not.

Upper legs.

Torso, with a poseable waist and heartlight.

Side of the torso, which gives you a gist of how the thing is made.

Head removed, to see into the top of the torso. Two Bohrok arms serve as the primary skeleton, and are rubber banded together so that the arms don't droop too far down. The rubber banded Bohrok arms and the lime green tubes hold the silver chest plate in place, and they create a rigid structure for the Bohrok arms so that they can't move up or down, effectively locking them in place. The lime green tubes serve as a "harness" for Bovema.

Dat arm.

More arm detail.

I really like how the neon green dishes came out as shoulder armor. They're not intrusively bulky but they still give Bovema a protected feel.

What a handsome face you have!

From the side. The head is completely custom, I might release instructions if demand is met.

Full body shot. The Bionicle Wiki says that Toa of the Green are colored "blue and green," but I wanted to add a little bit of contrast, so I chose Metru blue and lime green, with a little bit of brown thrown in there. I think it came out well.

Side angle.

Backside.

Ready for anything.

Exploring or something...?

Running!

Either ordering some lesser Toa or controlling plantlife.

Uhh...lolwut?

His Vine Whip! Attached to his lower arm, it gives him nearly 360° of mobility. The Vine Whip is made from rigid but pliable plant matter, making it suitable for anything from grabbing an enemy from afar or pounding him into the ground.

Grabbing something. Air, in this case.

Of course he has two! :D

He's gonna grab you and give you a great...big...hug. (Cookie to whoever gets that reference)

Aerial whip assault!

Brandishing his primary weapon, the Leafblade. He fashioned it from two razor thin leaves of a tree in Le-Koro, which are strong enough to support the weight of a Toa but as light as a feather from the majestic Gukko bird. They're also incredibly sharp.

"Eat your VEGGIES!"

Like a boss.

If by my life or death I can protect you, I will. You have my sword...

The sword in all of its glory. I had the idea to use the two lime green pieces long before I started making Bovema himself.

Greeblicious!

One last epic shot.

And that's all folks! Please do rate and comment. I'm making an effort to return to the 'Pages this summer, and I hope to release more stuff soon!

Quoting [ Chro ] Hey, nice to see you back. Quite an interesting MOC, too. Neat concept with the lack of feet, but it in turn makes the legs seem too short, so maybe if you extended them it might look a bit better. The color scheme works out surprisingly well, but I feel that the silver is too much on top of everything else. Otherwise, nice build! (Oh, and side note, don't use the Bio Wiki, use BS01 instead. It's way more reliable.)
Thanks Chro! I often use bio wiki and BS01 almost simultaneously...I don't know why, but either one usually works for my purposes. I have to agree though, BS01 is way better.

Cool! A lot of people say the Rahkshi were their favorite's. Mine were the Rahi, oddly enough.

Quoting Reaper the Ultimate . YES! You're back! Hazah! Very nice MOC there, the no-feet idea was clever (I saw the resemblance). The first of many?
Hopefully so! I plan to build a Toa of Plasma next, followed by Chiara, Zaria, or Orde, depending on how much time I have. I might also try a better-designed Rahkshi, since they were my favorite Bionicle villains. Glad you liked it!

Quoting Master Shifu Leo J We would like to recruit this Toa to help fight for the Moto Moto Republic.
I would be honored, sir. He sports a color scheme worthy of the name of the Republic!
