Draxx: Magnetomenace
This is my BioCup 2013 R1 Entry. This MOC taps into a whole array of building techniques never before employed by me. Some backstory too! Enjoy!
About this creation

Magnetism has always fascinated me as an element in the Bionicle Universe, but I've never really gotten the urge to build something with a color scheme of such mundanity. Nevertheless, there comes a time when color is not the "make-or-break" of your MOC, and that's what I'm setting out to illustrate with this 2013 BioCup R1 entry. So without further ado, meet Draxx, the menacing swordsman.

Name: Draxx
Age: unknown
Species: Toa
Element: Magnetism
Affiliation: Order of Mata Nui (Yeah..because I think every character I build has to be affiliated with the OoMN!! :P)
Mask: Modified inorganic Sanok (yes, because I also think the Black Phantom head looks like one!)
Weapons: Protosteel Alloy Katanas
So anyways,

Identity
A Toa who emerged out of nowhere, seeking to destroy the Dark Hunters. Rumor has it that he is on a quest of vengeance for the lives of his comrades who have lost their lives during battles with the Shadowed One's minions. He is said to come from a mysterious far away island, but he never gave mention of anything else about his origins.

Powers
Draxx is a Toa of Magnetism. He has been trained to perform all the feats a Toa of Magnetism would normally accomplish. He's also been trained to be physically apt, and is capable of a wide array of fast strikes to severely injure his enemies, as well as swift acrobatics to elude pursuers. He is also a well-trained swordsman. His weapon of choice is a pair of a Protosteel alloy Katanas.

Personality
Reclusive and quiet, but quite loyal, he is a good-natured Toa in general, but could sometimes become extremely aggressive, blinded by his thirst for vengeance.

So there you have it. I hope I met the deadline! Feel free to say what you have to say about this guy...there's not too much to him really..aside from a few techniques which I should say I've pulled off nicely :D

Cheers!

Very solid entry! I really like the ornaments on his back! Your score: 6

A simple build for an effective design. Really like that head, and those launcher pieces on the back are a nice touch. Not a fan of the exposed bones on the arms, though. Anyway, here goes 7 to you.

That head is amazing. I love the bulky look on the legs, but sadly the arms don't flow with it, and the arms also suffer from one sided armor. The torso and lower legs are nicely assembled, which is an interesting contrast to your simplistic solutions elsewhere. 7 points.

I like the compound mask design so much I may Use, and Cred you with, the aforementioned in the future. Onto other bits, I like the dark-but-neutral gunmetallic palate, and it lends to a menacing air. One nitpick: the stacked armor at the HIPS is a bit too thick, and appears almost too wide, when the figure is effaced-stance. Realizing you can't make the fig taller, due to restrictions, I'd slim those out, m'self. Still a pleasing end result, overall. 7 Points!

Quoting Max W. Huh, look at that. I built a rockstar toa ages ago with that hair technique on Hydraxon's head. Glad to see it pop up somewhere. like it, but it's unfortunately a little basic. 5 smileys for that hair though, and bringing back MOCing memories.
I think I might have seen it before; it could've been the subconscious reason for my inspiration. Thanks though :D

Quoting Yuri Fassio Cool entry, love what you did on the head. Nice FX on the main pic (spot healing brush?). Still a bit raw when confronted with this year's entries, but the back is very cool. 6 points.
The simplicity was actually intentional; I didn't wanna go overboard with my entry as I might need more ideas for the future rounds (provided I do make it into them :P). But thanks for your opinion, and I hope to go somewhere with this :P

Quoting Gringat the Repugnant He'd be much better off with a gunmetal codpiece. As he's built now, the large area of black draws the eye there, which isn't a good thing really. Well done you for an excellent looking toa, though. That and coining the term "Magnetomenance" XD
You're absolutely right about the black codpiece... That's one thing to modify if this guy is needed for the next round :P And btw the magnetomenace thing came out of nowhere really... I was just trying to add a cool-looking word to describe him :P Thanks a lot, though; your opinion is much appreciated :D
