The leg design is from DeeVee's Hapori Tohu, which is a totally awesome moc. I just had to try the legs. I tweaked them so that they are half a unit shorter, so that the upper legs are flush with the mata foot.

This moc turned into an experiment on layering. Note that the base color (or skin of the toa) is sand green, with white armor covering dark grey. The red is only used as an accent. Other then the chestpiece, which without would've created an overly large white area on the torso and arms, the color scheme adheres to the layering, while keeping the colors evenly distributed.

The tubes are there because it is my belief that every great toa moc has a large detail that makes it stand out from the generic toa; a toa can be good without it, but to be great a moc must be memorable and distinct.

I also derped around with a modular torso design, you can see that by clicking the first picture.

Basically this moc was a lot of fun and I think it really helped by building because it explored many different concepts at once, and gave rise to several handy techniques for part conservation, which is a big thing for me.

Good luck to everyone in the Bio-Cup, hopefully I make it farther than last year XD

Great MOC, and I love those colors! I don't see sand-green used very often :D

I'm glad you found my leg and lower arm designs helpful! I still love that lower leg design a lot, and sometimes I want to default to it still, even though it's been like seven years since I first used it, haha.

Cool character and lovely color scheme. The build is pretty solid, although could be a bit more consistent on the textures, specially with those exposed technic bits on the arms. Also could benefit from some weapon. Still, 8 points to you, very good one.

Great design with a very good and creative color combo! Your score: 8

Quoting Monarth GS despite that slightly suspicious looking crotch armor.
The placement of the armor is not the joke, it's there like a samurai loinclothy thing, but the part choice WAS a joke.

This is a rather well designed character, although the torso is a bit too sturdy. Some kind of point of articulation is needed there. He still oozes quite a bit of character and a consistent detailed structure, that I can't help myself but give this 8 points, despite that slightly suspicious looking crotch armor.

Quoting Clever Crowe Of all the innovation, I have to say the placement of the thornax prongs are a bit... suspect. I shant comment upon innuendo thereof, but avoiding it: it widened the hipjoints without increasing flexion or even significantly adding to Style or Theme. Sorry. I applaud Uniqueness, but I found them distracting.
Well I knew I was going to have something there, kinda like a samurai moc, but I did end up using those specific parts not so that I could make a joke, but so that others could :P Actually, I never really noticed how awkward it looks in the posing, since I build my mocs standing up from the legs up, and really only pose them later D: In retrospect, I'm not sure that I would have liked nothing to be there though.

I like the lower leg design (even if it was inspired elsewhere, as you indicated), it's incorporation here looks very nice, if a bit wide on the Color Palate. I like the thickness of limb and greeblework used to form a nice, strong and warlike frame for the figure. Of all the innovation, I have to say the placement of the thornax prongs are a bit... suspect. I shant comment upon innuendo thereof, but avoiding it: it widened the hipjoints without increasing flexion or even significantly adding to Style or Theme. Sorry. I applaud Uniqueness, but I found them distracting. Respect the other thoughtful construction that's been done here, and think they merit Scoring to match: 7 points. Good luck, Steve!

You make a fair point about the time you put in (and at least to me it looks like you're one of, if not THE judge that cares the most), and I know from my own contest that just getting it to run on schedule is hard enough. I shouldn't have started this argument in the first place, even knowing that it was unlikely either of us would change our views, but at least now I have some more respect. Hopefully you won't hold this against me forever, now that I've cooled down.

Great look you got here! The love and care you put into the color layering really helped. And yeah, the low points for no flexibility, is a bit iffy.

I'll admit, at first glance, I really didn't like this all that much. However, scrolling down, I realized that the build is actually really good, and the colors aren't as out there as I thought at first. All in all, great job, and good luck! :D

Pulled off the weird colors excellently. Perhaps Falos can join the team formed by Jack, Blockdancer, Nate's dad, Mr. Ninja, and Frank f'ing Horrigan.

Fassio(n) has already stated that he wanted poseability on the MOCs, specially he refered many times to the lack of waist movility on a lot of other creations. However, I agree that it would be nice he stated that on his presentation to have that fact in mind, since not everyone looks at others' cretions. But well, too late anyways. Onto the MOC! The main feature on this creation is, obviously, the color scheme. It's pretty unique and beautiful, and even if I think he has too many colors (white, red, sand green and green), they don't look bad on him since they're well balanced. I miss a picture of the back, but as far I can see, it looks pretty cool. I'm not sure about those Thornax launcher parts, but if you like them, that's what is important. If you want me to choose a mask, the mutated Matatu fits him the best. Well, dear, great job. Good luck in the contest! <3

Awesome! I love the color scheme on him. IT suits very well. Do you think you could check this and my other MOCs when you get a chance http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/363695

I hoped this entry was going to be bad, so I could say "Falos? More like Failos!" but disappointed me. It's a very good MOC, featuring an unexpectedly good color combo. I don't usually give more than a 6 to MOCs without a waist joint, but if I want to be fair I must give this a 7, for the great character design. Well done.
