Arenam
Bio-Cup 2013 entry for Round one: "<--- ORIGINAL CHARACTER --->"
About this creation
Bio-Cup 2013 entry. A forgotten Sand Glatorian who escaped the experiments of the Great Beings and so never turned into an animalistic state like other Sand Glatorian/Vorox. He now lives a life like before the Shattering, traveling around the Bara Magna desert as a nomad. Unlike other Sand-Tribe members, Arenam wasn't aggressive of nature. Instead he was more calm and clear minded.
He decided not to to be part of the new social structure and so lost his title as a Glatorian. He is known to secretly follow convoys through the desert and help them if necessary.
While the Vorox do not recognize him he will still give up his life to save his former friends and tribe. Even going so far to infiltrate into deep Skrall territory to save imprisoned Vorox. Believing that one day the Great Beings will be able to return them to their former state
He carries a Exsidian blade, a bow made by himself and a thornax launcher and has a assassin like fighting style.

I decided to keep it more simple because we have to keep the character in throughout the whole contest. An that most of the times I take the moc apart because I need the pieces for a different one. While he may not be the most custom MOC around (which was done or purpose) I decided to give him some cool stuff like a bow, cloak/poncho thing and a different looking helmet.

Some notes
- The blade is a prototype piece of the Gresh blade pieces. This prototype was giving to BZPower by LEGO. BZPower gave these pieces away to members whose MOC attended Brickfair or as a contest prize. I obtained this piece as a contest prize for my Eris MOC (can be found in my gallery).
- The string of the bow has not been cutted/modified in any way. Instead it is wrapped up around the bow as you can see.
- The cloak/poncho thing is the cape piece from the Furno-XL set.
- The helmet is the Vladek mask/helmet from the Knight's Kingdom figures.
- I know there are stickers on the 3x3 dish pieces on his shoulders. I didn't want to remove them because then would need to order me new ones to replace them in case I ever want to remake the set it came from. Btw, you can only see them from certain angles.

When he isn't holding his weapon, his hands almost look too big for him. Just looking a bit awkard with a skinny lower arm and giant monkey hands. Not bad at all though. The blade is awesome, and so is the bow. One more note though: For a sand glatorian, he doesn't have too much brown. The use of the cloak is great though, and really gives him a nomadic feel. Sorry for the rant. Nice job.

Nice! Good design, quite cool. Build is not the most complex, but its effective, but I wouldn't mind maybe a bit more brown in the torso. Still, here, have a 9.

Amazing! A moc with a lot of character and personality, well balanced colors and design! And the bow is just sweet! What is more amazing to me is that he is so simple and small, and yet so surprisingly effective! That's a true feat! Here, have my first 9

Sweet and well armed moc, but I feel like the brown is a bit off, but not much. In all the simplicity, the design works well. 8 points.

This is a MOC-ist example of how Style beat out Tech for me: I know you capable of wildly more intricate shapesculpting, but you hardly had to use it here. And that's an asset. Lots of simplified dramatic bits here, the cape, the custom helm, the nicely proportional accessories (bow is nice, of course), but my attention to detail was more or less turned aside by good drama and good stylish design, head-to-toe. No mean feat. 8 points, and good luck!

It just feels right and the bow is like a boss. Bravo, and best of luck!

Awesome! I love the nomadic hunter vibe he has. Do you think you could check this and my other MOCs when you get a chance http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/363695

Quoting Yuri Fassio It's a good character, detailed and accessorized. I like it because it's something I would build almost in the same way. I don't agree much with the helmet: it's not bad from the front, but it leaves the back of the head completely bare. Also, I pretty sure with those brown parts, a t-n-orange head would have worked better than the t-m-blue one. to me it's a 7, courtesy of that totally sweet bow.
I find it funny you mention the back of the head. Which is the same with every Glatorian helmet out there (even with the HF-ones). Of course if I searched a bit I could find a way to cover the back of the head. The blue head is a personal preference I guess. But I'm glad you like the MOC in general
Quoting Gilbert Despathens The bow makes the MOC. I love the look, but I have one question: Does it shoot?
Not automatically but the bow can be stressed enough to shoot the arrow that can be seen in the pictures
Quoting [ Chro ] Not loving the limbs or the helmet, but the torso and weapons are nice, and the overall feel of the character is great. And look at you, flaunting protos again... jelleh. T^T
This is the first time I use a prototype piece in a MOC, it's not that I use them much :s

Another great creation in terms of originality! I was wondering where did that Gresh blade come from, I wish I could have the chance of get one... The bow is magnificent, you deserve a 10 only for that. The torso and head are also great! Marvelous, dear. Good luck in the contest! =3
