Maltaes the Baneful Blade
(My entry to the 2013 Bio Cup.) One of the most gifted and deadly beings with a blade in all of Spherus Glyus, Maltaes is a hopeless and lost warrior desperately trying to find some purpose in life.
About this creation
The 2013 Bio Cup

Name: Maltaes
Gender: Male
Species: Toa
Affiliation: Priesthood of Enrehkyn
Title: Acolyte of the Blade (formally)
Personality: Quiet and arrogant, he dislikes dealing with others, to the point that he is antisocial. In addition he is quite cynical and angry at the world.
Homeland: Terrat Laen
Occupation(s): Mercenary
Element: Unknown
Kanohi: Pakari
Abilities/Power(s): Maltaes has lost the use of his innate elemental power through unknown means, yet he is still extremely deadly in combat. Through years of meditation at the Enrehkyn Citadel he has gained immeasurable strength and speed. In battle he is a force to be reckoned with, and none have yet been able to defeat him in swordplay.
Weapon: Heavy sword
Alignment: Chaotic neutral
MOC Status: Assembled
Status: Alive
Bio: Maltaes was abandoned when he was young upon the doorstep of the Enrehkyn Citadel. The High Sword Priests took the young Toa in and began to train him in their philosophy and in the art of the blade. However, after many years of training Maltaes began to think their way of life and pacifist philosophy was not at all correct, so he left the Citadel. He was the first Acolyte of the Blade to ever leave, and upon his venture into the outside world he came to realize how violent and bleak life was. Quickly he became jaded and lost purpose in his once harmonious life. The ex-acolyte took up work as a mercenary, and with his sword skill he was a perfect match. Now he kills for a living, whilst trying to discover his purpose in life.

This guy was a really fun build, and I think he may be one of my best MOCs. Anyway, he's also my entry into the first round of the Bio Cup so hopefully he can compete with some of the other awesome MOCs in that group. In addition he is a spiritual remake of my entry into last year's Bio Cup. Call it a nostalgia thing. Thanks for checking him out, please comment and rate.

I can't believe this didn't get through! The shaping on the legs is beautiful. An absolutely fantastic MOC!

Nice. Well-built and with a good design, although not the most ey-catching. Torso is a bit flat, and that bit where the leg connects to the feet coul've been thicker. Other han those, not much to say. Yous score is 7.

Very well built moc! Though I'm not fond at all of that mask and the color scheme is a bit bland, this is defenitely a fine entry! With a better weapon, a custom head, and a more vivid color scheme this could've easily granted you a higher than 8 score. Anyway, well done!

Well done. He is quite nicely covered and some of his designs give him a bit eastern feel. He's not very out of the usual, but his appearance flows well together, except maybe for the skinny ankles. Maybe. 8 points.

Personally, I was pretty jazzed just to see SOMEONE make use of that chest armor piece in a way that looked good (it's from Thunder, in grey, and I have about a dozen - that are utterly useless to me now. :( --) Liked what you did there, and the contoured heartlight, good armoring overall, nice proportions, too. Not my fave Mask, but still. Sword would be overkill-sized normally, but I thought it fit well here. Not bad at all - 7 points from me.

Very cool MOC. Love what you did on its thighs, and you used HF armor in the right places. The clawed hands may have called for some kind of clawed feet, but that's a matter of personal taste. Overall not terribly original, but very well made. 7 points.

Quoting Callan Lord of Fire Very nice! Not completely sure I like the all black color scheme, that and the ankles seem a tad thin, but this is still a great build! Good luck in the Bio-Cup, perhaps we'll clash if we both make past the eliminatories. :)
That was all I could really do because I wanted to preserve movement in the ankle, but I see what you mean. And there actually is some dark gray in the mix of black. Anyway, thanks for the comment, and yeah perhaps we will face off.

Quoting [ Chro ] Looks great, Mac. (I think you'll need to add a link to the Bio Cup near the top of the page, by the way.)
Ah, knew I was forgetting something. Thanks man.
