Limthrin
2013 Bio Cup round 1 entry.
About this creation
Bio

Name: Limthrin
Race: Toa
Element: Air
Mask: Kanohi Faxon, Great Mask of Kindred
Equipment: Axe, Big-A Jetpack
Attributes: Limthrin's abilities reveal the harsh side of the wind, grinding down stones and earth with sheer force. He weighs much more than an average Le-Toa, and requires his jet pack to fly or be with the wind. He can withstand high G-force levels, as required due to his powerful abilities..
PA: Le-Toa are known for being cheery and playful, and Limthrin is no exception, he loves a good game or joke. Altough very jovial, he is a notch less energetic than his brothers. Limthrin is actually very gentle, and spends a good amount of his time caring for his home, and pondering the great thoughts. Though usually quick to try to resolve things peacefully, he will not run from a fight if responsibility calls upon him to fight it. Because of his strength, his fights don't usually last very long, and he can get right back to what he loves most. Limthrin enjoys the fact that his extreme powers and his gentle nature contradict each other, showing that any two opposites can indeed co-exist.

Limthrin crept around the half-buried vessel, watching his footing in the disturbed and choppy soil. A strange sensation built up in his chest, the triple beat multiplying exponentially. He felt hot and uncomfortable, yet at the same time intrigued and anticipating. Despite this jumble of emotions, a smile was plastered across his mask. The night sky above him was full of stars, stars he had never seen before. The sounds of activity fell down into the miniature crater his ship had created, laced with the clanking of machinery and music. He trudged carefully through the unstable earth, and pulled himself over the lip of the crater.
The grassy landscape of a spacious plain stretched out around him. A great mountain range loomed off in the distance, jutting out of the otherwise smooth and lush plain. A smaller range spread out much closer, but it was shaped... peculiar. He shook his head, and kept moving his gaze. There, in the distance, a fair sized village sprouted from the ground. Multi-colored lights shown from the multiple buildings, and shadows danced across the walls.
Limthrin jumped into the air, summoning the wind to carry him. He held himself in the air for a few moments before he touched down a good one fourth of a kio from the crater. He continued this process, until he was within ten bio of the village. He ran the rest of the way, careful with his footing.
‘I fell... heavier. I’ll have to adjust to this world’s gravity over time.’ He thought to himself, being slightly more careful with his footsteps. He wasn’t sure how the natives would receive him, and how his approach would affect that receival. He reached the building nearest to him, a large and blocky structure. He could hear the sounds of the village much clearer now, and was itching to see what was around the corner. He inched slowly, creeping towards the corner, until his right arm was pressed against the very edge of the wall. He turned his head into the light, and gasped. They were all unique, and strode at different heights and in a variety of colors. He had only ever seen one thing that ever resembled what he saw now. They looked like him. They were like him. He stepped around the corner.

(this picture... bleh)

The Big-A Jetpack. Very satisfying.

That wheel just wedges in there perfectly, I didn't need to use any other connection.

In case you can't tell, he's shouldering it off.

Built around one Bohrok head piece. I'm proud of myself for that.

A look at the inner arm.

Just to show he does have an opposable waist, the only thing that moved between this photo and the last is his waist.

The lime ones.

Size comparison with MIM.

My entry to the 2013 Bio Cup. I'll have that story up soon, but I'm still working on it in my head and otherwise. This Toa is so amazing to look at in person, the pictures don't do it justice.

Uuh, MIM, I wouldn't do tha-

KRAKABOOOOOMMM!!!! Screeeeeeeeeeeeee.....

. . . . Well it was bound to happen eventually.

Quoting Description This Toa is so amazing to look at in person, the pictures don't do it justice.
The pictures don't do him justice? I'd better never see the actual figure then, because the pictures blow me away! The layering is excellent and his lower torso-plate blends perfectly into the visorahk legs, but the best parts are his boots and the way they match with his mask and bracers. Limthrin is not as complex or custom as some BioMOCs, but he certainly looks much smoother and more natural. Now do five more just like him! Please.

Great entry! Well built with a good color scheme and a very creative jetpack! You get an 8 from me!

Good, solid design. I like the color layering, does indeed has a jungle feel. Looks a bit 'overtubed' when with the jetpack, though. I'll give you 7.

A groovy solid figure, but that coreless HF chest is a bit icky. I like the colors and that jetpack is pretty interesting. I also totally dig that axe, it's very Lewa-mata nostalgic, but a ten-fold level-up. 7 points.

This is the second example I've seen of heavy HF-use, but done well, and avoiding the problems so common to their use. I like the colorset and Figure proportions, but was ALSO bothered by that empty Core socket on the chest - still looks strong and clearly agile, accents are largely effectively done. I am afforded the rare pleasure, C.F., of upping your Score based on Excellent (and I'm Snooty about it, so this bears extra gravitas, m8), and I DO mean EXCELLENT ...WRITING. This matters, and this Counts. 7 points!

Cool color combo, cool jetpack and cool weapon design. But that core-less basic HF chest plate... eeew! It really brings it down a notch... 6 points to you, and good luck with the other judges!

After the first sight, I though 'Hmm, indeed it's good, but I can't understand how Teri-chan loves it that much... Looks very typical...' I keep scrolling down, and he, how mistaked I was! While that weapon from you is starting to be a bit... overused (well, I understand it's one of your best designs and it would be a shame to not use it, but... also, an axe for a Toa of Air? That's rare! 8|), the awesome jetpack compensates it entirely. He doesn't even need the axe, the jetpack would be enough! *^* Not only that, the MOC itself is amazing by his designs. Feet and shoulders are my favourite ones, love the part usage on them. Well, to sum up: while at first sight may look simple and usual, he has a lot of great ideas and designs, and deserves a good amount of points/note/things. Specially for the jetpack! Great job, dear! Wish we can face-up in the next round! =D

Quoting Garrett A. YOWZA! Great work on this Coco! I like the legs very well, but for some reason the arms are my favorite bit, I dunno why. Also, LOL at MIM's accident. This may be a silly question, but what does MIM stand for? Mr. Inika Man? Mike Inika Makamukumaizo? Monstrous Industrial Moustache? OK, I'm done guessing XD.
It's Mister Inika Man. Thanks Garrett.
