Halhi
Made for the Bio Cup 2013.
About this creation
Halhi is a Toa of Fire from Metru Nui. He became a famous gladiator during his time in the city. For long, none could hope to best him. Until one day, when a Toa of Ice named Alraz challenged him. Halhi would be undefeated no more...
Angry, Halhi sought out any means possible to become more powerful. In the meantime, his rage distracted him from his life. He lost many more battles, which increased his anger.
Finally, after many months of searching, he found what he was looking for: the best kept secret of Metru Nui. The Hall of Knowledge. Its existence was known only by Vakama, who had created it long ago. No others had ever found the Hall of Knowledge. Except Halhi.
As Halhi left the Hall of Knowledge, he was spotted by Vakama. For his crime, Halhi was banished from Metru Nui.
It is unknown what exactly Halhi found in the Hall of Knowledge. Since his banishment, he has modified his mask to allow it to shoot high power fire rockets. He has also grown more savage in appearance, with clawed hands and increased armor.
He now wanders the land for eternity, searching for travelers with whom he can battle. None have ever witnessed the battles, but those who seek Halhi out have never returned.
Halhi's weapons are his mask, which shoots high power fire rockets; his fire sword, and his ability to throw dangerous balls of fire.
His current location is unknown.

Halhi was quite a challenge to make, since he is my first Bionicle MOC.

Ready for battle.

The lower legs, built with Matoran bodies, and the feet.

Upper legs. I used these hinges (minus this piece) instead of ball joints for greater mobility (due to the waist design, ball joints are restricted greatly).

Torso. The waist is accented with a circle of tubing. I like the look that the Toa Nuva armor gives him.
I made sure to give the torso some poseability. It can tilt side to side and pivot at the waist.

Upper arms and shoulders.

Lower arms. Lots of joints here, meaning plenty of poseability.

The back was quite complicated, but I like how it turned out.

The custom head was made to allow the tube to wrap around the back of his head from the corner of his mask.

Action poses:

I'm not generally a bionicle fan, but this is very good. That claw is just perfect.

Some points seem too skinny or too empty. Like the head and arms, but Pretty good for your first! WHat made you decide to try Biomoccing?

Dude, this is sweet! The opening picture is quite awesome! I'd like to see him throw that fireball or see the flaming torches from his mask, but anyway, such a cool Bio!

Good. Legs and back are interesting and I like the shoulderpads. Still, it could use some polishment in general. Your score is 6.

Nicely done. The character looks quite good and the system bits work nicely for the shape, however their use feels a bit too excessive for my taste. The shins look a bit unfinished, but I do like the idea of the matoran torso armor. The feet can't move really forward which is a minus for posability, but the looks work fine. The colors are also nicely spread. 6 points.

Good balance of colours. Interesting leg designs, though may have benefitted with ankle articulation somehow. The various system based details worked well in your favour. Overall a nice, all round character. You get 6 points.

Props for: custom feet, lower legs, compound articulation on lower arms (NICE flexion, man). I actually don't mind the hands at all - we all of course see/have used that design all over the 'Pages, but I think it works, here. I wanted DIFFERENT looking custom feet than what I saw when scrolling, but only because I thought the upper bod shows so much promise. Good work, and good for 7 points from me. Cheers~

Brilliant work, for your first Bio-MOC. I love the chest and back. The legs are well proportioned, too.

Quoting MCLegoboy ! Not too bad. Thhere are aspects that look really good, like the feet and the shoulders that will become more signature as you will make more versions of him and refine him, but that Mask, I'm sorry, it just does not work. I think that story is pretty good, and especially since I'm listening to System of a Down, the mood was perfect. If this is how you really are like; you know, the anger, ROCK ON! It's not so easy being a teen.
Not really, it's not intended to be a self MOC, just the character for the contest. I just picked the name Halhi since I couldn't think of any better ones.

It's well designed, well proportioned, and you managed to give him a waist joint while keeping exactly Toa-sized. That's no small feat. My only concern is the quite raw technic work on its lower legs and collar-bone, but I imagine that piece count may have been an issue, being this your first BioMOC. You have handled the transition with grace and deserve 6 points.

Quoting Mister Lego ~ Nice job for a first, I like the custom legs. But I kind of agree with Chronos about the claws.
Well, the claws are present since he became slightly changed after visiting the hall of knowledge, they're part of his savage side.

Very nice for your first (?) BioMOC. I personally don't think that the clawed fingers really suit a Toa, but that's just me. Good luck! :D
