This is for BBCC 65 over on BZP with the theme of building a bird. It was a quick build for me: 3 days from concept to finished product. Kinda hard to get back in the swing of things so quickly.
Started with the wings because i knew those were going to determine whether the rest of the MOC was worth making. They turned out alright, so I finished it. I rather like the view from above, and I think it's probably the best angle of the MOC, actually.
Here is a detail of the torso. Pretty much the only parts legitimately connected on the torso are the Mistika shields and the medium blue frame. Everything else is sandwiched in, uses a super illegal connection, or, in the case of the small technic panels in the back, uses rubber bands. It is the biggest pain in the neck to put together, and you do not want to drop it.
The feet suck. The undersides of the wings are ugly, as well.
A previous version could actually fold its wings properly, but this solution was thinner so I sacrificed that function.
So overall its alright, I think. A half-way decent way to get back in the swing of MOCing.
