Kerykeion Daiou
With the Mark III's frame at its limits, the only option is to add more frame.
About this creation
The Mark III Apex is on its own a superior machine to nearly any other of its era, offering superb flexibility at every range of combat. It is not, however, the most powerful machine produced by Corusa Industries. That honor falls to a machine exclusively used by the company itself, the weapons platform known as the Daiou module.

Designed to be attached to an Apex, the Daiou connects via hardpoint in the small of the back to the machine's systems, using the Apex as a simultaneous control module and escape pod. The Apex's Asclepius Missiles are hindered in this configuration, but this is a small sacrifice for the power the module offers. For protection the module offers both armor and a full-body reactive beam shield, forming a sphere of protection around the entire module when active at the cost of some significant energy.

Two massive gravitic engines propel the titan, with many additional thrusters located along the frame to make it surprisingly agile for its bulk. Because the resulting energy requirements are so massive, to say nothing of its weapons, six additional Vitas Engines power the behemoth Daiou, set in two rows of three. Because of the Engine's unusual energy source, only the most emotionally focused of pilots can utilize the Daiou to its full potential.

The Daiou comes with two storage hardpoints along the underside of its main body, typically used to store an Apex's hyper beam rifle and hybrid sword.

Because its primary role is area dominance, the Daiou possesses an extremely vast missile complement to ease its energy requirements. Each leg mounts twenty-four Hermes Missile pods, the big brother of the Asclepius Missiles. Carrying enough ammunition for two full salvos without restocking, each Hermes Missile delivers a wide-area concussive blast, such that a single full firing can decimate a large portion of an enemy fleet.

The Daiou also carries 160 Asclepius Missile launch tubes in each of two missile packs for a total of 320 over the Apex's 128. These large missile packs store enough ammunition for up to forty full salvos of the micromissiles, making the Daiou able to slaughter lightly armored targets by the thousands without using its energy.

This is not to say the Daiou lacks for beam weapons, however, as each leg also conceals docking bays for twelve Options, giving it a total of twenty-eight when used together with the four on the Apex. While additional computing hardware on the Daiou module eases the strain on the pilot, any Daiou pilot is likely an esper and can thus use the Options to act as a one-man platoon. If the Daiou were to be destroyed, the Options remain slaved to the Apex, and the most skilled of pilots could continue to fight with astonishing effectiveness by using the wing docks to continue recharging them in a cycling pattern.

While not intended for melee, the Daiou is quite adequately able to defend itself there. The most versatile addition to its melee arsenal is a set of four sub-arms each equipped with a beam saber. These arms cover the primary blind spots of directly above and below the machine's large backpack. Though weaker than the Apex's main arms, the sub-arms are still capable of fending off anyone who attempts to take advantage of the Daiou's weak points.

Each leg mounts a large beam saber resembling a sawblade, which projects out to as long as the machine is tall when in use. These blades are as destructive as they are large, primarily used in spinning attacks. Their high energy cost makes them unsuitable for prolonged activation, but they are one of the few weapons on the Daiou that are designed for dealing with single large opponents over multiple smaller foes.

Finally the Daiou has two even greater weapons than all of these, one located on each of its arms. The left arm carries a large grappling claw weapon which can be launched on a wire, with the option to control it via remote if the wire is cut. The claw can produce enough pressure to simply crush most things it grabs, and if that is insufficient the center of the claw mounts a high-impact pneumatic stake weapon. The claw can also serve alternative purposes in battles with even larger units than the Daiou, as the thick cable can support the machine when using it to swing around an opponent and contains enough length to be used as a binding or tripping wire.

The machine's right arm, meanwhile, carries its most powerful ranged weapon, the Eirein particle beam cannon. Larger than the Apex itself, the Eirein at full power can obliterate a small fortress or capital ship in a single shot. Utilizing the weapon at full capacity drains even the Daiou's considerable energy reserves, so it is normally utilized in a lesser firing mode that makes it a grander version of the hyper beam rifle's charged shot, with a faster firing rate and larger blast radius.

Though a one-man army on its own, the Daiou is only at its best when flanked by a squad of other units to protect it, as its sheer firepower makes it a high-priority target. In addition, even the large amount of computer support still leaves it as a complicated machine to operate, particularly in close combat. However, for those few able to master it, there can be no greater weapon.

as always, an incredible piece. reminds me of the gp-03 dendrobium orchis from gundam 0083. kind of a combination of that and the EX-s gundam. i have to say, the color scheme kinda of makes it difficult to see some of the details though. other than that, its great
