Turaga Dume & Nivawk
"Dume's mask has been useful, now time for it's final task" _Makuta posing as Turaga Dume
About this creation

Re-using and altering my Nuhvok-Va body (because I liked it so much) I have made my first Turaga and in this case it's Dume.
His pet/associate/informant or whatever his relation is, is Nivawk. I strayed away from making him a transport for Dume like in the set and more like he was in the movie. Just a separate being that flew around and informed Dume of what was happening in various locations.
His head I wanted to be fully custom as the Pohatu Claw as the lower jaw was just too big and odd looking on the rest of the moc. The idea for the base of the wings (where they attach to the limb) was inspired by Toa Infernum on his Makuta Icarax moc.
All in all, I don't think I did terrible here but mini-mocs like Matoran and Turaga aswel as winged creatures such as Nivawk here aren't my area so I wouldn't have expected my best.

one of my favorite bionicle sets as a kid. Oh the memories. You captured the feeling of the original set flawlessly.

Quoting Kevin McCroary really nice revamps, but what is that piece on nivawks leg, the roof like thing
A couple of system pieces compiled together to form a shin-guard. The 'roof' like thing might be the small 2x2 brick that came from Exo-force. Bricklink item #30603

Dume looks great but he looks more of a Matoran instead of a turaga, the body is good but a little odd mostly because of the chest armor. the arm is good but the upper part of the arm not so much and i like that the lower leg is easy. Nivawk looks epic, love everything about it, but the head is really odd to me but then again it's good, the color look great (better then the movie color of Nivawk). Arms look awesome like what you did with the bat wings and the leg don't look that good think it need some work.

That Nivawk is AMAZING. Everything about it is awesome. I also like the use of minifig arms for fingers. Great job!

Well, looks like I’m your tie-breaker judge. XD. Alright, I’ll get right to it. You both should be very proud of making it this far and preparing such great entries. Both were amazing, and you made this an impressive final round. I liked both of your entries too much to pick one, so I rated each entry on a scale of 1 to 10 in four categories: Capturing the essence of the original, build/design, parts usage, and overall cohesiveness. So, since you both made two entries you each had a possible total of 80 points. So, I’mm proud to announce that the winner is……………Fenrek with a total of 62 points! Chro, you shouldn’t be sad, you were only beat by two (2!) points out of 80. It was very close, but what Fenrek lost for Dume’s slightly less impressive build (dume got good marks on parts usage though!) he more than made up for with Nivawks impressive score (highest overall). Nivawk was also the only entry to get a 10. Alright so congrats to both of you! If you want any details on scores just ask me. I’d be more than happy to answer. :D

This is EPIC! This was my second titan set, and I really like it. Your recreation is fantastic, and thus, to you goes my vote. The dark look of Nivawk, and the scheming look of Dume is captured perfectly in your revamp. I am incredibly impressed by your entry. The jaws of Nivawk are very clever, and very accurate. SO now we have a tie on our hands.

Brilliant. Absolutely fantastic. This makes it very hard for me to make my choice. Both of these are incredible builds. I love Nivawk, but Kalmah in [Chro]'s build is amazing. This is an incredible tough decision. You guys are both to good. I love the bat-like feel of Nivawk, to. Dume is also well created. But in the end, my vote can only go to one of you. I wish I could vote for both of you. In the end, [Chro] edged you out by a hair, so my vote goes to him. Again, you both did superb, and I can't wait to see which one of you wins. Good luck with the other judges, Fenrek!

Nivawk is epic! So is Turaga Dume, but he could look more like a turaga. Still, very nice head on Nivawk!

Not sure about Dume, but Nivawk is awesome. I like the bat vibe he has.

Wow, nice work, esp. on Dume! One thing though: Is Nivawk supposed to be some sort of bird? Because as such his/its/her legs should be much less bulky.

Excellent work on Nivawk. I really like flying/bird type rahi, and I've always liked the insidious, vulture-like appearance of Nivawk from the movies. The face is spot on, but he'd benefit from some kind of tail, I think. Dume could use some kind of staff and robes ensemble, too.

This is a good revamp. I was surprised at how you attached Dume's head, because whenever I use a hand piece it just looks out of place. I think you did an excellent job at recreating them.
