Here is my last creation: a red Porsche 914 1.7l.
About this creation
Here it is. I always wanted to built this car, because I'm a big fan of it. So 2 weeks ago I exploded my Bond Bug to come up with this new car.
As clarkson would say :"Let's see it on a German point of view". The Porsche I'm presenting is a 1.7l 4 cylinder.
It has:
> a 3 cylinder WORKING engine based in the middle (I only have 3)
> connected to a 3 gear manual gearbox. The gears can be changed from the interior of the car.
> This all connected to the right back wheel.
> it has a working direction with a working direction
> and working retractable headlights witch you can extend or retract with help of a switch near the steering wheel.
!!! I JUST WANT TO PRECISE THAT I created a gearbox without the special parts you gain when you buy a car by the Lego compagny. I spent a lot of time to create and perfectionize it to make it work. In fact I only had some cogwheels.
!!! It is the same for the steering. No special parts too. I used simply a cogwheel and an endless screw.

Otherwise, the body was quite simple to built because it is a very squared car

For those who doesn't know this car: it is a coproduction of VW and Porsche built in the beinning of the 70s. It was made to replace the 356 and to offer a cheaper car to young people ( the 901 and 911 was to expensive). Now it becames a very popular youngtimer because of his very 70ish design and performance.

This is fantastic! All those working functions are awesome! I love the gearbox too and the shape if the body is perfect! Nice pop-up headlights, they look great! Brilliant Porsche! :)

First of all, thank you for commenting my Minor Traveller. Then I went to your page to see what you were doing, and wasn´t dissapointed. The fact that you are interested in older and peculiar cars is great. I think yuor Porche 914 is fabulous, but also the Little 6 wide Bond Bug is great.

It's nice to see a builder doing the less obvious stuff... I like this one a lot!

The roof is a bit high but the headlights, and the gears( especially in that scale) are close to genius. I really mean that. Great work!

A very cool model and quite rare here on MOCpages, too (I count 3 plus 1 LDD model, now). The functions are very clever, especially the tilting headlights. The roof line seems to be a little high, though. The bow part on the rear pillar is cool, but too high compared to the rest of the car. A combination of slopes and cheese wedges could work, there. The rest is perfect. Great job! :-))

Nice! :) Very underrated, the front is probably the best part, and the side profile :) I love the curved buttresses!
