Deep within the insects subterranean hive lies the queen, a massive insectoid responsible for keeping the insect race in that corner of the planet going.
Finally humanity has been able to use their technology and endurance to penetrate the inner sanctum of the hive and enter the queens chamber to end conflict in that area and destroy the queen. The humans do not know however, that she has her own heavily armoured guards willing to lay down their life for her before any human gets close.
Once again, the humans have come prepared with their newest instrument of war, a quad tank wielding dual barrels on both sides to eradicate any bug in it's way, they call it 'Smear'. Once inside the queens chamber, the 'Smear' will assault the queen whiles soldiers wielding heavy firepower and grappling hooks will subdue the queen.
Well I knew I was going to be making a queen at some point. I stuck to some classic concepts here such as the typical oversized abdomen that produces the countless eggs for the hive. The crest-ish design for the head is influenced by my favourite queen of them all, the Alien (Xenomorph) Queen. It seems Most queen concepts for races have crests to simulate natural crown like structures to show royalty.
The tank I named Smear as it sounds pretty generic and that's what people say when they step/squash a bug. They 'smeared' it or it got 'smeared' so it seems apt for a quad barreled tank. I wasn't originally planning anything human-wise for the queen moc but I guess seemings as the other bug mocs have, the queen certainly should. I didn't want to make another mech again and the tank was not going to have treads. So instead it's just a mobile walking unit which I think works great as it's not high up like mechs would be, it's more of in-line with the queens stature being closer to the ground.
Even though I've already made the queen, I'll still be doing more bugs because I'm really enjoying myself with these kind of builds and have gotten lots of positive feedback. A little clue to future bugs is that I said about the queens 'guards' earlier.
Overall quite pleased with this moc and look forward to making more.
