Harlequin
First off, I want to have critic upon this work, as well I would like to know what anyone thinks about the new background and if I should keep going with it but get better light, or get rid of the black. need feed back
About this creation
Backstory: Harlequin was once a bug toa (new group of creatures sure to be seen more of later). He was a great and noble bug toa and was known for his unusual powers and undefined courage. But one day, an evil arose (most like other stories) and was to powerful to be defeated. Harlequin sacrificed himself to save his planet from destruction. The majority of him died that day along with the evil brain bug emperor (hint, hint). Even though this event occurred and apparently killed him, his spirit and a portion of the evil spirit of the emperor brain bug as well as his own dark side rode a cosmic dust storm off his planet and into space where they drifted for centuries upon centuries together. After a while the two spirits grew a conscious separately and began arguing about what they would do when they found a new body for them to host together.

(continued...)

The emperor brain bug's spirit wanted to of course be evil, and harlequin's spirit wanted to be good and heroic. So another 100 or so centuries later they came upon the agreement that when they found a host they would be both good and evil, or rather be good at heart but overall be mischievous to the point of a gremlin (deadly mischief). The spirits together fell upon a planet where a sentient species of bio-technological beings were evolving slowly and progressively. They decided to come upon the world and wait for the species to become more advanced. So the toa came around, then the toa nuva, then the toa metru, toa hordika, then the toa inika and the two spirits saw the type of model that they wanted to inhabit but they were interested by the development of these robotic beings so they waited again. Toa mahri, and lastly the toa phantoka and the two spirits wanted to keep a close eye on the creation of this type of being so they stopped and asked the most intelligent and sophisticated techno-organic beings if there are any other planets with the same type of being inhabiting it and, what they now called bionicles, said that they didn't know but they were sure that there were other intelligent life forms similar in design to them. An once again the two spirits vanished through the cosmos looking for planets that were similar.

(continued...)

They found one called bara magna, and they settled down in a random host body called a vorox. When they first took control of the body they couldn't control the beast's rage and attacked a local golden being that had just teleported at the spot and had their tail torn off in the process. They didn't like this world and left again to find a body that was more suited to their insectoid tastes. They came upon the planet that hosted very highly advanced beings called heros that were built in a factory. They hated this idea, but upon further investigation they realized that the poor building style had potential and that maybe the emperor brain bug could conjure up a brain bug to mutate a wild animal so they could have the perfect insectoid body. They did so, but an evil "villain" as they were called on that planet stole the brain bug before it could mutate a host. The villain reproduced hundreds of millions of the brain bugs and sent them throughout the galaxy. The two spirits had had enough with their travels and needed a body ASAP. They conjured up another brain bug with the last of their power and mutated the nearest bug-lizard and turned unto the form that you see here today. Harlequin is now a villain on the hero planet and steels random items of worth to "play" with the heros who in turn don't have the power to defeat him usually ever. Harlequin's spirit is the only half that is keeping the evil part in check so that he doesn't kill anyone. Therefore, Yin and Yang.

This can also be interpreted as the story of mocers and the connection between Bionicles and hero factory

This story line will start a new figure set primarily focussing around insects, bugs, and arachnids.
(p.s. bugs and insects are in fact different types of the similar thing)

Hah, that's friggin sweet. Muy bueno Nothing bad to say about it. Lighting seems a bit direct, but other than that these look great.

He looks a lot like the character you're trying to capture into this moc. The only critique I have is the gray pieces on his lower arms, you could replace those with white ones if you have the pieces. But you've done a great job on this moc overall.

Reminds me strongly of Shadowgear6335's "Funhouse", but the insectoid look shines though very well.
