Vander
Toa of the Green.
About this creation

This is Vander, Toa of the Green. A week or so ago, I built a generic silver and black MOC, then decided to use a color for accents that I wouldn't be able to use as the main color of a MOC. Sand green was the color that I chose, as you can see. After adding the green accents I finished the rest of the build, including the head, which actually proved to be quite tricky due to the neck connection and shape of the parts I was using.

Vander is maybe some sort of ninja or ranger character, I'm not really sure what he is exactly. He wields an axe, but also fights hand-to-hand when necessary. His Kanohi, though Tryna-shaped, is actually a Huna.

There is a hidden link on this page, which previews an upcoming revamp.

Feedback on the MOC is appreciated.

lol I get it Deus. Anyways, sand green accents on him are boss. I like the usage of the thornax launcher piece, seems like I should take advantage of my thornax launcher pieces, I have a whole bunch!

Thing is, all of them are essential to my storyline, and I plan on posting episodes of my storyline with pictures sooner or later with some form of consistently, so, yeah. Plus I like posing them up for ideas for my storyline XD.

Quoting Garrett A. Oh, and the reason a lot of my MOCs aren't custom is that I don't have oodles of ballpoints and technic, and I always keep my MOCs together. (I think I have about 20 assembled)
Ah, okay. Yeah, I have one or two built at a time, into which I pool almost everything available... I'd actually recommend cutting that number back from 20 to maybe like 10, because that would allow you to make those ten all the more awesome... ;D

I'm with Gale on this, and the streamlined look is refreshing after all the bulky MOCs from you recently. The mask fits him well, and I'll say this once and once only: SAND GREEN!!! 1, 2, 3, thanks. 4, I have no idea why everyone thinks it's such a difficult thing to revamp that! It honestly wasn't that great initially (despite looking neat at first glance).

Quoting Backblast ? The overall moc is really cool. I can't decide on the shoulders though I look t them one way and the look really really good, then I look at the other way and they look like they are going to squish the head
Thanks Backblast. You're right, they do look close to the head, but I assure you there's plenty of room there. ;)

Quoting Snaggletooth B. Motörhead Excellent MOC! I especially like the Thornax pieces on the thighs, I never know how to use those pieces myself xD Sand green's always a win, but there are still too few green (and blue) parts on this MOC to be a Bo-Toa, in my opinion. Still an awesome MOC :3
Thanks man. Well, canonically there are always exceptions, especially with color scheme. And sand green has a bluish tint, right? :P
Quoting charlie bilott Nice MOC! I love the hints of light, light green!

Quoting Wertman 8 Pretty cool, but NEEDS MOAR GREEN! (I did read what you said about you adding it on last minute, but still :P) also, I saw the linkey; Nice choice!

Quoting Patrick Smajdor Construction as good as always, but why hes so skinny?! And youre really going to build that thing?
He's not overly skinny, he's actually proportionate, it's just that I usually build a lot of bulky MOCs so this looks much different by contrast. And trust me, it's not too hard to build something better than that thing...

Quoting Gringat the Repugnant The only thing separating this MOC from the masses is the sand green, which as you said was only added fairly last-minute. Otherwise I'd say this is good rendition of Dystrax. Can't really see how the plantlife element applies... The proportions, however, are spot on, and the armouring flows very well.
Yeah, I misspoke. It wasn't last-minute, it was made before about a fifth of the rest of the build. Anyway, the sand green on black and silver kind of reminds me of moss on rocks (if Vander was a boulder instead of a Toa, I guess...) so that's why I thought of him as plantlife-oriented. Thanks, Gat. :)

Quoting RICtendo (Hungry) Um...that's some project you're undertaking. Anyway, interesting name for him,you need to make a toa of the gold soon and make him invincible. ;)
What project? Interesting name? I'm confused. But don't worry, sooner or later I'll make a TOA BRUNO WESTERWAVE THE GREAT ULTIMATE VERSION TOA OF SKY or something like that... and he'll have gold so you know he's invincible...

Quoting Coconut Fanatic I really like the olive green accents, and the upper torso is appealing(not entirely sure why... but it looks good). The upper leg armor however, imo, protrudes forward too much at the top. If you could blend that a little more, it would have just a bit more flow. The weapon looks good too, and the entire arm looks spectacular. I do have a question though; What kind of camera do you use that lets pictures look that good?
You're right, but I needed to protrude the upper leg edge so that the Thornax launcher half would attach properly... anyway, thanks dude. Oh, and I use a Nikon D5100.

Quoting Toa Infernum Awesome! Great work! :O. That next MOC is going to be epic. I remember when I was younger I always thought that was the most epic Bionicle thing ever! Can't wait to see your take! :D
Yeah, the original always looks really cool, but we don't exactly have a great view of it in the one picture provided... looking closer I've noticed some things about it that made me not like it very much, so I think my revamp can top that. ;D

Quoting Ahpolki Ihu Although Toa of The Green are usually blue-and-green, it's still a nice creation none the less. At least he has the Element of Surprise. XD
I know. I thought of the sand green as being sort of like moss on rocks (if Vander was a boulder instead of a Toa, I guess), so maybe he controls slightly different types of plants than usual? :P

Quoting Dragonax lord of all things black and creepy Awesome MOC! The subtle accent of pale green is a great idea, it really sets hims apart from other MOCs! I have to ask though: What's the significance of the thing in the secret link?
