ALO Round 5: Halhi 141 vs David .
About this creation

Edward Vicari had gone missing that night. He had gone out on nights before, but never without telling his wife. Susanne was worried.

The police came too late to stop the murder... but they still could capture the one who had done it....

Built for the ALO in the category "Acts of Valor."
My opponent is David .

Behind the scenes. This MOC was designed with one specific angle in mind, so I thought it would be interesting to show a few messy behind the scenes shots.

This apartment/condo building was my favorite.

It was also tricky to design. Lots of SNOT involved, mainly for the brick texturing at the bottom and the windows.

The warehouse building was simpler, but I still think it turned out well.

The street lights are lit up with power functions lights! The wires and lights themselves were hidden behind the streetlights, so some careful camera angles can make them at least difficult to see. The rest of the wires are routed beneath the street and sidewalk.

Routing for the lights.

Some half-finished rockwork, until I realized that this part wouldn't be seen from the intended angle anyway.

I'm pleased with how the tree came out. It's simple yet effective.

This fence is one of my favorite parts. It's done using several tiles, half of which are one plate behind the other half. Some chains and string completed the look.

The police car was the first part that I built. I'm pleased with how it turned out, considering that I'm not really a car builder.

The front.

The back.

The rear window, done with a sideways windshield.

This crate technique is new. It's made using six 2x2 tiles wedged into the bottoms of each other.

The plant was one of my favorite little details...

It's made using six Barraki spines stuck into two tread links.

Quoting LukeClarenceVan The Revanchist Fantastic build, all sorts of great details. I especially like that vine technique, mind if I use it sometime? (Giving credit to you, of course.)
Sure!

Awesome! The "main" pics were a bit too dark for my liking, but kinda gave off a "Batman" feel to it. Great job!

Would've been much better as a Brick Noir build, definitely has that feel to it. A lot of nice details and the working lights are very nice. Good job!

Looks great, but doesn't seem quite as much of an Act of Valor to me. Setup was great but David took it to another level with his.

Great lighting and photography. The way that you hid the wires is clever and impossible to spot with the subdued light in the pictures. I like the technique that you've used to make that grey box. The rear windscreen of the police cruiser is a neat technique that I've used on some of my spaceships.

That is amazing. Just the colors incorporated in the buildings are so detailed. Well done, and good luck!

Nice! :) This has the potential to be a really cool scene, but the lighting just doesn't quite cut it. Great build, but the main shot isn't quite there. Close, but not quite. Well done nonetheless! :)
