SHADOW Drone
SHADOWS, or Super Human, Assured DOmination Weapons System. The future of unmanned combat, project SHADOWS was started 25 years ago to produce the most lethal combat android the world has ever seen. able to run at over 100 mph, throw a grenade 150 yards through a 1 foot wide window, and accurately hit a human moving target with an unscoped weapon from one and a half miles away.
About this creation

I am really pleased with the look of the android, especially the torso, but I thought it needed something else, so I made the little viginette.

the SHADOW drone uses near silent hydrogen fuel cells, encased in a titanium sheath, in the chest cavity, along with the main processor.
instead of the conventional loud servo motors, it uses silent, but incredibly strong electromuscle. a smart material that is as strong as steel, but lightweight, and contracts or expands when AC current is passed through it. under the plating, the drone reflects human musculature.

An enemy soldier who found out the hard way that SHADOW drones are really not to be messed with!

I like how the blast holes in the wall came out.

poor guy never even had time to run. his severed arm is still holding his useless assault rifle. (the SHADOW drone is impervious to most small arms fire)

The "eye" sees in both infra red and ultra sound, like the Cyclops drone. this means it can see through some walls and other solid materials, as well as spot heat signatures.

the left arm has a retractable blade, fined to a point less than 10 nanometers wide. able to cut through most materials with ease, as the fellow in the corner discovered.

the drone is easily strong enough to hold a 7.92mm LMG one handed. in fact, it can hold two, or any other weapon on new Babylon. they are all programmed in, and it is able to learn how to use any unfamiliar ones it comes across as well.

some photos without the background
the gun again. the only brickarms in the build is the sight, which is a mk108 grenade launcher.

the "eye" is vulnerable to 50 caliber plus rounds and explosive shockwaves, so...

it has a retractable titanium sheath to cover it.

the right arm also has a multi tool, with welding apparatus, a plasma cutter, lockpicks and various more boring items, like electric screwdrivers.

a final view.

Hail Gaufrania!

It's impressive how compact this design is, although it makes the gun look silly huge. Anyway, nice techniques!

the vignette was invaluable for the product demonstration, it provided credibility, ambiance, and...laughter! great stuff!!!

I would NOT want to meet up with this guy anytime soon, he looks like a mean fellow! Great job, and I really like that gun, looks sweet!

Quoting Joe Hammond Cool Build! Great size and diorama showing a lot of detail. The description and commentary is also great and really gets the reader to take time to see all the details you described. So are these good guys or bad guys? Didn't really say in the write-up. Thanks.
They are good, sort of... They are part of a near future military for my faction, Gaufran, in the war group Divide and Conquer II. For me they are good, for all but my allies, they are very bad news. Even my own men are scared of them, as they rarely speak, and have creepy un programmed tendencies caused by ghosts in the AI, such as staring at people for long periods of time, or entering rooms silently and appearing over their shoulder for no reason. Relationships aren't their strong point...

Not bad work on the drone! One piece of advice about the vignette though: When you make a vig, make it a different colour from the characters you want to put on it, so that both the vig and the characters can be easily seen.

Very cool build, some great ruin effects. Fantastic figure as well, the gun is fantastic as is the use of rubber bands.

Quoting Matthew Sylvan A bit simple, but with the Dreadnought built I can understand that. The vignette is pretty cool too.
Yeah, bit of a table scrap model with the dreadnought and all. I might need someone else to break that beast up, because I really don't want to be the one. In like a years time, I will find a few pieces from the dreadnought still attached to each other, and I will probably get emotional over it!
