a pump-action type shotgun that is fed by 10-shot clips
About this creation
This is a shotgun i made about 7 years BEFORE the minigun. The fact that it didn't fall apart in that time speaks for its durability (you could use it as a club, actually). I must admit that I made one major change to the design: I had to include one part that is not a normal lego part but a long wooden stick made of a chop stick. The original parts had a tendency to fly away after the bullet so i needed one solid part that couldn't dismantle itself.
Each of the two clips shown stores ten cross-axles (4 knobs length) as ammunition. Bigger clips are possible (I once used a 30-shot clip) but the current size fits just fine and keeps the design more compact.
[EDIT] Since the pictures are really crappy I might spend some time and make some shots of a CAD version if I have any....
same goes for the minigun...
Ok, time to comment the discussion myself. when I was a kid I did build those cities or castles or dinosaurs or whatever. Now I've just grown older and those things aren't that interesting anymore. Now I prefer building complex mechanics rather than static constructs. If you have something with its own power source that you don't have to power yourself, then it's even more fun (motors, springs, rubberbands, etc...). And the things you see on my page are creations that many of my friends thought they wouldn't be possible to build with lego. It was the challenge to make something complex like a gun that not many did master sofar, nothing more. By the way, I'm born in the 1980's, so still building spaceships would also be weird, don't you think?
This is an interesting project, I might have to try something like this. The slide mechanism combined with an elastic loading clip really shines. To the other comments: I don't think there has ever been a time when Lego wasn't used to build weapons of war.
However, I must say that I am really tired of people wasting thier time building weapons out of a once-inocent toy. What ever happened to colorful towns inhabited by little yellow people with smiley faces???
You clearly are a pretty good builder, but, if I may, I would suggest that you give a try at building other things (castles, space ships, ect..)
However, this is just my opinion. I'm sure 90% of the folks on MOCpages disagree with me, but that's ok.
