Development series/New style vehicles
The Union introduced very much weapons, all using non-standarized parts. the Unionís military leadership realized that previous tank designs were often too complex and had resulted in poor production rates and mechanical unreliability Therefore the Chairman ordered a halt to AFV production until the Development series could enter production. The production is based on subsystems common to most Union New Style or Development series vehicles. The idea was to symplify production, reduce the number of elements in the AFV superstructures and allow easy interchargeability of parts on the battlefield. This standarization also means less costs are made when producing the vehicles and maintaining them.
The D-45 tank is a meduim battle tank blancing armor, speed and firepower very well. The development took longer than other tanks, since there was no need for a meduim battle tank, until it became clear the Union did not have sufficient numbers of tanks that could take on other tanks.
The D-45 is armed with a 115MM coilgun. Most tanks are not able to withstand the velocity of the cannon. However more expensive tanks will be able to hold their own in a 1 VS 1 fight. Most D-45 operate in groups to overwhelm the enemy. Like most Development vehicles of the Union, it is also equiped with an automated sentry gun on top. It cna be used to take out softer targets with it's 20MM gun.
The D-15 uses a standarized engine of 1500HP. This gives the tank speeds of around 70/h, 45 MpH in open terrain. However it is slower when it's not on roads.
