My contribution to the SydLUG Pirate display shown at the recent Sydney Brick Show. It's a treasure cave that is also home to a giant crab.
About this creation
A bit out of my comfort zone as I have never built anything like this before. It sits across 6 baseplates, with 1 extra baseplate on the top for the lake. It all comes apart (you can see the gaps, the tables were a bit uneven) for easy moving.
I had a list of things to find on the island. I took the photos over multiple days during the Sydney Brick Show, so some things (mainly the list, the figs and the boat) got moved around a bit.
A glimpse of the full layout. For shots of the rest of the layout, head over to my flickr page http://www.flickr.com/photos/82225640@N02/sets/72157633358849919/
Storm Trooper catching some rays.
Lights! meant to be the glow of the treasure. There is also a Ninja in there, hiding in the shadows.
The crab! It actually sits flatter than this, but I hadn't propped it up properly for this shot (the legs don't actually support it at all)
