Air superiority
The next two jets came right from the factory, from TuranMasinaZavod, north of Papigrad, our capital. Both of them can act as drones.
About this creation
The first one is the Ma.G-22 Waverider. It is a one seater 6th generation air-superiority fighter with a missile bay, VTOL and stealth capability and variable forward-sweep wing. It is based off the F/A-40 Zeus jet but with some significant changes. Most important is the drone capability, it can fly without a pilot. The AI acts as the co-pilot, reducing the crew.

Statistics
Design: variable forward-sweep wing
Powerplant: 2 × Gurijev AX-b Pulse Detonation/Scramjet engines
Crew: 1+ AI
Maximum speed: Mach 5
Range: 3000-4500 km , dependant on speed.
Guns: 1 × 25 mm gatling gun
Missiles: space for 12 missile in internal bay

The outtakes of the Gurijev engines are capable of thrust-vectoring thus increasing manouverabilty.

A 25mm gun is hien behind a trap door for dogfights

The jet still posesses VTOL capability.

Its name came from its wing design. During hyprsonic flight the tip of the wings drop by 15 degrees. It traps the waves generated by the jet and generates extra lift that way.

Its internal bay houses 12 missiles. The pilot or the AI can detect the target, select an appropriate missile, then the machinism selects it, opens one of the doors and fires the missile. On this picture 10 medium range AA missiles and 2 air- to-ground missiles are shown.

With the wings opened the plane has fear greater manouverability at the los of speed. It is still capable of reaching mach 2.7.

MiG-40 Turul
Design:
Powerplant: 2 × D30-WU4 engines
Crew: 1+ AI
Maximum speed: Mach 2,8
Range: 4000-5000 km , dependant on speed.
Guns: 1 × 25 mm gatling gun
Missiles: space for 12 AA-10 'Csaba' long-range missiles, or 3 TEK-30 stealth cruise missiles, or 52 80kg bomb, 6 hardpoint under wings + 2 for AA missiles on ends

The Turul is 6th generation supersonic heavy-interceptor aircraft with stealth capability thanks to its radar-absorbing material. However, weapons mounted on hardpoints ruin this except for the TEK-500 but it's a stealth cruise missile.
It can do recon, long-range interception but its body is not suited for dogfights and tight turns.
Its AI works the same way as on the Waverider.
Its maximum range against fighter-sized targets is approximately 200 km and it can track up to 15 targets and simultaneously attack 6 of them with its AA-10 'Csaba' long-range missiles. Also, it can detect cruise missiles at 100 km an engae at 70km. The ADAT-256 datalink enables a flight of four MiG-40 to automatically exchange radar-generated data within 200 km from each other.

Its Gurijev D30-WU4 engines are rated at 210 kN thrust each, allow a maximum speed of Mach 1.5 at low altitude. High-altitude speed maximalized at Mach 2.8—the thrust-to-drag ratio is sufficient for speeds in excess of Mach 3, but such speeds pose unacceptable hazards to engine and airframe life in routine use.

This is the AA-10 'Csaba' long-range missile with an operational range of 150-200km

This is the SDCCB ’Lehel’ bomb (Smart Dual Canister Cluster Bomb) The jet’ computer designates target for the bomb, then it launches 12 bombs which are then directed to pre-designated targets.

This is the TEK-500 stealth cruise missile with an operational range of 500km. After launch it travels at a height of 20-30m and ascends to 100m before hitting the target to hit form above.

This is a brand new weapon, it uses Metal Storm technology. 210 40mm HE rounds are located in 42 barrel. This is fired right above the target.

Missile bay with a mixed load. It can hold the TEK-300, it’s a shorter range cruise missile.

3 air-to-ground Hellfire missiles can be fixed onto each hardpoint.

I see a heavy influence from the movie Stealth in the G-22. Nice work.

These are awesome. I don't know which one looks better, they're both great.

Quoting Matthew McCall the Turul, while not quite as advanced looking, is still awesome none the less.
It is an interceptor/bomber, so it lacks manouverability and other fancy stuff.

I really like both these aircraft. The waverider is a excellent looking futuristic fighter that with a lot of functionality, and the Turul, while not quite as advanced looking, is still awesome none the less.

Quoting Tomas Crncevic Awesome! Could you send me the file please?
I can only send the F/A-40 Zeus, the model this is replacing. This is currently a top secret vehicle.

Quoting claw paradox very nice; one thing you should know is that intakes on the top look cool, but result in greatly reduced power in tight turns due to intake problems. so, in reality, all the fighters with intakes on top would suffer from drastically decreased performance.
If you look closely there's two air intake on its bottom next to the cockpit.

Excellent work! I like the jet thrust nozzles on the second one, it looks similar to the method i used on my F-106. I'm currently cranking out some ASF jets of my own so check em out if you get the chance.

Okay then, it does work in reality. D&C aside, can I still get the file so I can study some new aircraft techniques? My aircraft designing skills are pretty much spent idea-wise after this K-Harrier project (should be up as prototype tomorrow). For a non-D&C analysis, would you be willing to share?

Every angle of these beauties looks excellent! Also love the colors you used in the LDD. The weapons payload is also very impressive.

Quoting Zach Sykes; Master of all Things Mars Ive never heard of such before and I don't know if its realistic at all but that thing is too boss for me to question the fact that it works.
Here it is http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/WaveRider It's real technology.

Quoting Zach Sykes; Master of all Things Mars Those are great fighters. I assume that the first one acts as a lifting body with the wings shut.
It utilizes Waverider technology during hypersonic flight. It is in the description.

Those are great fighters. I assume that the first one acts as a lifting body with the wings shut. The NCA is interested in obtaining the blueprints for these aircraft for analysis and creation of several new aircraft ourselves. (I never copy, but I do want a look at these badly for some design ideas)

Quoting Broken Bricks Lovely Snot work on these! The overall designs are very believable and the fold out wings on the first jet are a nice touch.
Yes, I like to build realistic creations. Btw, my next one might not be so realistic, it's an airship :)
