The Vanguard class lightweight destroyer is the NCA’s latest in offensive/defensive naval power. This model is based off a real French destroyer. Keep that in mind of you wish to question its effectiveness.
About this creation
The NCA Vanguard class lightweight destroyer is built to pack a destroyer punch in a patrol ship sized package. It features 2 dual 5” rifled long-range naval cannons, hangar and deck space for up to 3 helicopters, and various cruise missile and SAM turrets.
Here are the aforementioned cannons. Not much more needs to be said.
The bridge. On top, you see multiple radar systems.
Behind the bridge are the missile turrets. Left one is a surface to surface missile launcher that packs quite a punch vs other ships. The right is a SAM turret. Cruise missiles did not make this build but will be included in a future heavyweight destroyer that is in planning now.
The helipad and hangar, where up to 3 helicopters can be stored. A minifig scale helicopter is also on my to-do list.
This is what was happening in the main pic. The Vanguard destroyer is undergoing some naval exercises with a Pegasus LCS.
Even though your ships are well designed, there is a flaw in this one. When you 2 front Guns are swung to the side like that, it would off balance the ship. I would shorten the gun barrels of simply make the front longer and wider to counter balance.
This is a reminder that all NCA units are proprietary. You are welcome to use the instructions for anyhting other than D&CII as long as you credit me. If you wish to use it for a D&CII creation, ask permission first as I don't give away NCA technology for free.
