The zephyr battling the Intersector (Brickmania 2013)

My latest ship, a pirate brig.

Hmmm, doesn't that stern look delicious?

The deck is made out of Brick bricks, they give a nice effect but I wouldn't really recommend it for larger ships, the planks would look too small for minifigure scale and know that this small ship already consumes 126 brick bricks (!) .
Either way, as far as I know (and I do know quite a bit about lego MOC ships in the internet) this is the first ship that uses brick bricks for this purpose, I'm pretty proud about that :).

I hope you like it, this definitely a small master piece (in terms of my own MOC collection), it started as an experiment but eventually became a complete ship.
I may improve it still, maybe add some costum rigging.
I've lost count of hom many sailing ships I made so far but there must be more than 30.
And frankly this might be the last of it for a long time, I'm out of inspiration to build more, I had a WIP though, a large battleship which I cannot complete unfortunatly, it just doesn't work out.
This is what I got so far (and for a long time now) I just can't seem to make any progress on this ship.

But I got this far, it seems silly to stop here, maybe I should just put this ship in a box and try again later.

You can find more pictures in my brickshelf gallery.

Quoting Louie M i thought the intersector had 2 sails per mast not 3, in the link the ship had 2 sails per mast not 3 why is that?
The first version had but I modified the ship, renamed her and added another course of sails on each mast. You can check out both versions in my brick shelf folder; http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=506144 I didn't post the new version on mocpages because it's pretty much the same ship still.

Quoting cyberfrank 2010 the bricks s brick trick fits like a glove, a real natural look, I went trough all pirates creations for my latest piece, [1500] and you re one who made most ships on it, I was surprised to see that [almost] only Deus and me ever made futuristic pirate pieces, maybe you should try it.
It's not the piracy I'm interested in, it are the old sailing ships I like about the genre. That's why futuristic pirates are not present in my collection ;)

Quoting Maxime MaxSamAlex Great ship, and creative use of those pieces. Good detail despite the compact boat, too. Have you ever thought of making "The Unicorn" (La Licorne in French) from Tintin series? It seems like a boat that fits your style. Just saying. Thanks for posting.
Thanks, I thought of that but the Unicorn is a big ship, far bigger than this small one :P

I like that WIP, the sterncastle looks similar to the design I used on my H.M.S Dauntless.

That's right, I based it on the the stern of your ship. If I ever do manage to complete the WIP I'll be sure to give you credit for that ;)
