Battlestar Daybreaker
Hello all, today i present to you something different, (deja vu here) It's a battlestar!!!! Anyway, after reading El Barto's latest wonder, i decided, its time to build myself a battlestar, here's the result, Shout out to El Barto for creating such an awesome continuation for BSG...
About this creation

Stats:

Length: 57 studs (18in or 48.5cm)

Width: With flight pods retracted: 20 studs, (almost 6.5in or 16cm)
with flight pods extended : 24 studs (7.5in or 19cm)

Height: 11 studs (4.1in or 8cm)

Now for the pics:

Front

Side

Rear

Top

The front batteries

Didn't see that one coming did ya? Missile tubes

watch the 2 sliding parts carefully

Now, an airtight seal is created

Another setof main batteries

Starboard flight pod

another view

YES! the flight pods can retract for jumps!

Here's the mechanism, the tubes holding the flight pod slide over that smooth surface, and since the are flat on top, slide under the square plate

And that 1x4 plate physically stops the tube from falling off

Another set of batteries

As you can see, drawing inspiration from galactica, this ship also has 6 sub-light engines.

Main Batteries, Anti-Ship ammunition! FIRE!

...

Anti Ship missiles Armed!

Juat another view of the ship

......

The bottom, as you can see the starboard flight pod was a bit off when i took this pic

The top, again

The tubes are more than capabel of holding the flight pods in place, even in Earth's gravity ;)

Overall view with flight pods retracted, JUMP!

Top view with flight pods retracted

Rear view with flight pods retracted

THANK YOU!

And again, special shout out to El Barto ! for his awesome continuation of BSG

You can watch his first episode here.

Quoting kosh naranek amazing. it looks mostly like the 1978-1980 Galactica. but how does it compare to my Battlestar?
I wanted it to look like the reimagined, cause the 1980 BSG didnt have retractable flight pods, also it was much, thinner, and the flight pods hung below the hull

Great job MAD. It is amazing what you can do with you limited supply of bricks. The true essence of Lego. Some really good details as usual.

Hey, Dude! Awesome ship! It's got the two features mine doesn't, the retractable pods and the missile tubes. Some nice close up shots, especially the one into the starboard flight pod. Glad you like the show and that it inspired you to make your own battlestar. Thanks for the shout-out!
