Concept revisited for 2013
About this creation
This is essentially the Lady Kay 2013 version with a few adjustments, here is a list of the main changes:

1. Mini fig uses the new Roman Centurion helm to distinguish between this character than the previous Lady Kay character (which had no helmet). I did think actually to give her two outfits, a battle dress and more feminine versions, perhaps in future builds.

2. Left arm is now a harpoon weapon, this was actually designed for a more complicated version of the Thief/Bandit of the woods character. To test whether the limb actually worked I attached it to an existing frame and liked the results so I kept it.

3. New shoulders. One of the elements of the original Lady Kay design I was never happy with was the limited arm movement. With this design she can actually hold the sword with both hands (images to prove this may follow IF the joining tool actually works without crashing my laptop).

4. Gear decoration improved to give a more clockwork/steam style than the original "magic" version.

5. More metallic colour palette used. While I love the blue/gold combination, for this lower ranking Steam Knight I wanted something more in brasses and steel. Besides, I feel the chrome and gold looks more medieval, and "realistic" (if you can have a realistic looking steam powered suit of armour).

There is some minor detail switches here and there but these are mostly cosmetic and don't alter the overall design significantly (I'm probably the only person who could name them).

I've tried to avoid the stereotypical "fembot" look (which I occasionally use to my own chagrin) where I emphasis her "ahem" attributes, here her chest area is less overtly "breast" like. I don't really feel that giving her a metal bikini look was really in keeping with the character.

Quoting David Roberts I'm really enjoying this series of your MOCs. They look great and I could imagine them as Lego sets in shops. I like the way that you posed this MOC. You are a real master of the LDD "Hinge" function, which I just struggle with and end up flipping the whole MOC around a lot of time!
Thanks David. I always like to give evidence that all those joints actually work, even if I only show two distinctly different poses. The hinge tool can be painful to use, but when it works the results can be brilliant.
