The Chynska has Relikt-6 ERA on the front and sides of the hull. Turret is protected in the same way. This combined with its armor, it has a good crew survivalability ratio. 4 80mm smoke-dischargers are mounted on the front of the turret and 4 40mm on the top.
For even better portection it’s equipped with the Trophy active protection system.
The rear part of the hull and turret is protected by wire cage armor to increase the protection of the powerpack and ammunition stowage against anti-tank grenades and rockets. It also has a stowage box at the rear left on the hull.
One of my favorite function on this tank is the working Shtora system. It blinds any laser guided projectile, so it has a high chance of miss.
Armament The main armament includes the 2A46M-8 125mm smoothbore electrothermal-chemical cannon. The gun design made it possible to reduce technical dispersion of all ammunitions type by 20% in average and to increase effective firing range. It is automatically loaded with 22 rounds int he carousel, which reduced the crew to only 3 member. A 7.62mm MG is coupled with the main gun.
A remote weapon station is mounted at the rear of the turret which is armed with a 7.62mm machine gun. It also fields a panoramic sight which is controlled from the commander’s station
The 12.7mm AA gun is optional but it is often removed in urban environments.
The gunner also has a panoramic sight with FLIR and nightvison capabilities and another sight which is connected to the main gun. It is used for long range precison shots. The tank is equipped with a weather and fire condition sensor along with a ballistic computer. The computer can automatically track a designated target and eliminate it even if it’s on the move.
Propulsion and movment
The Type-57 is motorized with a new high power diesel-hybrid engine which is rated at 1250 HP .With this engine it can easily reach 70km/h with a range of 700km.
Thanks to this maintenance door, it is easy to repair the gearbox even on the battlefield. This automatic gearbox has 7 forward and 1 reverse.
The suspension of each side consist of 5 dual road wheels with the drive sprocket at the rear and the idler at the front and five track return rollers. Each wheel is fully independant. I used rubber bands to make it work.
How did I not see this before, I love it! The turret is very well made, with the front gun cover and the ERA the whole tank looks very realistic. And don't get me started on the suspension, the mere fact that it's independent makes this amazing.
This tank is brillaint, and it's good to finally have it on MOC Pages. Of all the cool features, I especially think it was brilliant to use a lego "laser" for a laser, you don't see light bricks incorporated into vehicles very often.
I see the front of the turret as a plus. Apparently this tank seems some kind of modernization based on russian t-72 (125mm smoothbore with 22 rounds autoloader, etc.). Forming the casted turret of t-72 with its half-globoid form is a real challenge from Lego. It is a creative solution that you tried to make it from panels of reactive armour. The price was the gaps between them.
This is bigger than the claymore tank "depending on the model".
Some models have a lower profile than this ,but aside from that you did a great job on this. The front of the turret seems a bit messy though.
I know you are not a fan of custom pieces but there is a huge gap on the gun that I couldn't fill with bricks. It has a low profile because it is based off the T-90MS, probably the best, most advanced tank in the world as of now.
so much in such a small package! truly awesome work. I figured you were more of a LDD builder, but this is proof you work just as well, if not better, with bricks. the cage and composite add on armor are very realistic as well.
Commander Sylvan. Your tanks just get better and better. The angle of the smoke projectors up next to the main gun are perfect. The vision blocks on the drivers hatch again, excellent. The engine compartment and over all shape of the turret are very cool. And the suspension is really impressive to me. I'm not a big fan of the heavy canvas dust shroud around the main gun, or the part mod on the top of the turret. But over all this tank looks quite lethal. I'd put odds on the low profile of the Chynska, over the towering menace of the Claymore in a heartbeat. Oh, and as usual, your photos are excellent. Attack!
