Set Review: 75001 Republic Troopers vs Sith Troopers Battle Pack
Well, this is my first set review, let's give it a go :D
About this creation
Ok, so I got this set for $10.00, let's see if it's worth the price...

There's all the things that come with this Battle Pack, I 'll review those later.

Here we have the back of the box, because you've already seen the front :P Pretty standard, shows the flick fires being flicked, the minifigs pitched in combat, etc., etc.

Here we have the Land Speeder, for a battle pack I think it's ok. It has two of those quarter dome pieces in the front, and a few special red pieces. And of course, we have the flick-fire missles. What is with LEGO's obsession for these?! I liked the Inika weapons better than flick fire missiles! But I'm not here to rant about the uselessness of Flick-Fires. The interesting thing I find here is that there's a new piece holding them . It's like a 2x1 but with a technic hole instead of a stud. This could be used in a few things I'm sure. The speeder also has a holster for the pistol.

The Back. Comes with 2 1x1 technic pieces to hold the "boosters" in.

Now, to the minifigs!

Here are the Republic Troopers, which I think are amazing! Lego certainly did not fail here :D They put an amazing amount of detail into the torsos and helmets. I think it's safe to say these are my new favorite Minifigs ;D

The machine gun, which albeit clever, could've been better.

This guy's my favorite, I named him Jace. Jace likes Music. And beating Sith.

Hey!

There's also back printing, beautiful work Lego :D

Here we have the Sith Troopers. These guys are very well done too. I find their leg printing to be very good, and their helmets are very cool. I found it interesting how their helmets resembled Darth Vader's helmet.

Sith Commander.

Sith Trooper.

These guys have back printing as well.

Conclusion:

This is a very good battle pack, the minifigs are extremely well done, and the main "attraction", the speeder, is pretty good. In my opinion they could've left out the flick-fires and put in a trigger missile. I got this set for $10.00, Lego suggests it be priced for $13.00. Was it worth it? Just barely. Personally, I think it should be a 6-8 dollar set. Although the minifigs get much praise from me, the speeder just didn't cut it. They could've added a few barricades or another speeder for the Republic. Overall this set get's a 3/5. Thanks for reading, I'll cya later!

Quoting Sir.Evan P.hd seems like a great set. oh, and by the way i believe it would be more accurate to say Darth Vaders helmet resembles the Sith troopers helmet, as they came first. otherwise, great review.
This is true, but realistically speaking, Darth Vader was designed first ;)

Good review, but in my opinion, a poor set. I mean, the game the set is based off is rated (not sure but I think) M in Australia, which makes it, legally, only available to people 15 or older. Yet Lego is marketing pathetic sets like this to young children. It just highlights the tragic new age we live in. In terms of the set, I think we're returning to the dreaded days of 2006/07/08, when sets were tiny and overpriced. This battle pack should consist of something like, oh, I don't know, a gun emplacement, three of each trooper, a properly build speeder, and one other thing. I'm with you Noah, this set should be a $6 -$8 set. Sorry for my boring rant, but that's my opinion. Good review though. You covered pretty much everything in a clear manner. Well done.

No Declan, it's because Lego hates Australia. Go to the Lego S@H site and put the region to US. Check the prices (and the availability). Then convert to Aus and do the same. You will be stunned.

I'm from Australia too, and that's the standard price

In reply to your reply, not really. From my perspective, your price is really cheap. In comparison to the rest of the world, we are really expensive, however we make up for that by having the same amount of money for that. I guess it's because of shipping and the strong dollar...

Quoting Reaper the Ultimate . I tried to leave a long and opinionated comment about this set. But MOCpages says it's "pending." Still, good review of a mediocre set. Hooray for mediocrity, seems to be Lego's new philosophy.
No Kidding :P

Quoting Declan Muller Nice review. I bought this set as well. It costs $20 in Australia, and I think it's better if you want minifigures. If I could get it without the speeder, I would...
$20? That's a little overpriced :O
