MA/13 Bookends
About this creation
Team: Team i Brick
Contest Page: 2013 MocAthalon
Category: 23. Bookends
Design a pair of wickedly cool bookends. Show them off holding up your library of Barbie Fairy Princess books, or whatever you read.

Okay, so maybe Alien Landscape wasn't my favorite of the categories that I had, this one beats it for me!

What they don't know about the simple white Ninja is that he is the Ninja that bears the legends......

Some outside shots:

The doors slide open! I'll bet you didn't think that rock there opens :)

What's inside the rocks? The secret (of course) man cave, if you would, of the Ninja, this is where he keeps his best weapons and suits.

Let's take a look at the inside of the main part of the Ninja's home.

We have some food on the table like rice, meat, and vegetables (or Sushi if you prefer) on the table, some cool chairs, a lantern hanging from the roof, and other things.

These keep each sliding door from going to the other side.

A close-up on the chairs

The other half of the Ninja's home. A nice decoration of swords and dragon statues.

The Legendary Ninjas (they are actually the same dude!)

Thanks for looking, God bless!

Fire Ninja Jedi

Epic! Love the detail you put into this house inside and out. I want that man-cave! Lot of great designs used on this thing, and it can support books too!

Great detail! The cave and the house are excellently furnished. The rocks are built well, and it all adds up to a good looking MOC with the kind of detail I'd like to see more of in Lego.

I like all the hidden entrances, and just a quick question: Do you have Mr. Gold? I'm asking because I saw some pure gold Lightsaber handles.

The exterior looks inconspicuous, but opens up to a rich and detailed interior, i love the red-black-tan oriental theme we so seldom see in MOCs. Thoughtful design of the dining area. Exterior waterfall, steps, and roofing are good to look at, and low key enough to be a bookstand. Well done.

Quoting A M Wow, this is incredible! Everything is great. You really nailed the category with your design; I love how it looks like a complete house, and then you can take the books out to access the interior. The detailing is awesome: I love the chair design and the roof looks fantastic, I can never seem to get that same angled look when I try plate roofs. And the waterfall is just epic! Fantastic technique. Excellent!
Thanks A M! Yeah, the playablility and details are fun for me! It took a while to get the roof just right :D Thanks!

Quoting Evan 'Beardless Dwarf' Botkin Super cool! I like that it opens into his man cave. Btw the plural of Ninja is Ninja, not Ninjas. Any way great job! That waterfall looks really cool!
Thanks Evan! Yeah, I like the cave as well! Actually, English would use Ninjas. Japanese would use Ninja. I chose the English way :) They both are used commonly and both are correct. It depends on what way you'd want to go :)
