373rd Reptilian Infantry Squad
About this creation
2013 MOCathalon
Team: The Maersk Blues

Category 14: Totally Historically Accurate.

The men (and lizards) of the 373rd Reptilian Infantry Squad, serving in the European Theatre of Operations during WWII.

This was mostly inspired by both Andrew Becraft's Great Leaders on Terrible Lizards and the upcoming documentary America's Fighting Dinosaur.

Full shot of the 373rd:

Back shot of the Terrible Lizard's armor:

Oh, hello!

Airborne astride his Pterodactyl:

That's right, the base is a T-Rex footprint!

Very well done. There's a terrifying idea, a weaponized, 30ft tall, 2 ton, angry T-rex.

Wonderful build Bruce! I'm somewhat curious as to where the spare tire goes on this creature though. ;)

I opened the group so you can add this back in. Love the footprint base on this! Reminds me of "Dinoriders" (I think that was their name) from the 80s! 4 points ~ Chris.

For whatever reason this doesn't seem to be in the MocAthalon group, even though I thought I'd seen it there earlier...

Reminds me of Dino riders. Looked in on the documentary is there some explanation that explains the intricate way they changed tires on a T-rex back in the day.

I don't mean to be rude, however, whenever a prehistorically inaccurate thing like misclassification happens i get sort of... incensed.

and, it's NOT a pterodactyl! pterodactyl is a commonly misused term correctly used to describe EARLY, LONG-TAILED pterosaurs, such as ramphorynchus. that is a PTERANODON, but you can call it a pterosaur.

DINOSAURS ARE NOT REPTILES! they are, in fact, more closely related to birds. however, pterosaurs are reptiles. for misclassification, i give it a 4/5. building techniques are 5/5, though.

Whoa! This is awesome! Love the fact that it's a dino footprint, that really adds to the whole thing, but the entire set up is fantastic!
