I, I love the colorful clothes she wears... And the way the sunlight plays upon her hair... I hear the sound of a gentle word... On the wind that lifts her perfume through the air...
About this creation
Not intended to represent that famous part of Venice Beach -- I've never been there but even if you haven't either, you probably know it from TV or movies -- just a little vignette to display the barbells. Someone's probably done the same barbell design before (it's pretty basic after all) but I don't recall seeing it, so who knows? And who cares? On with the show!

I wanted the weights to be black, but don't have the necessary eight small dishes in black.

Usually I like to go as studless as possible, but I tried a SNOT tan section there and didn't like it. Especially right next to the path, with people constantly walking through it the sand would be textured, not perfectly flat.

I needed something else to go on the beach next to the weightlifter, some kind of small filler object that one might logically find at a beach, and drew an utter blank. In the end I threw the green thing in there, and I honestly don't know if it's clear as to what it's supposed to be. Guess. Go ahead, guess.

I wish they all could be California girls...

"Hey baby, it's your lucky day. Don't go all gooey on me, but... I'll let you oil me up. No, no, don't thank me til afterwards."

He thinks, "She's a bit flat, but you gotta love that thong."

She thinks, "A man in a Speedo is SO wrong."

My dirty little secret -- I don't have any plain yellow torsos!
And the green thing was a beach ball. Yawn.

One would expect excellence from you Shannon. Now I'd love for you top stop by my MINI FIGURES MY WAY because I used that space not only to show my mods on the existing 48 but now as placing them and some Advent calen dar stuff together and created the smallest vignettes! They are 4x4s and you'd be surprised what you can fit into a 4x4 space!
I hope you like them.
I joined your vignette club! |

Ha ha ha... I actually have been to Muscle Beach... very strange place. Full of over-buff, over-oiled, grunting guys lifting huge weights. You've captured that pretty well here. Oh, yeah, and then there are the metal public bathrooms. Yes, they are made out of metal. Ha ha ha... nice job, Shannon! |

Just throwing this out, but what you could have hade as a filler object is a drink container holding the ubiquitous protein drink that all body builders have so as to keep their metabolism at peak and not lose muscle mass. Yes, I used to be into body building, hard core. |

Funny stuff! I've seen the real Venice Muscle Beach a number of times and its not all that spectacular. It's really gross and hobo-ey outside of Muscle Beach. The Venice Pits are what you really want to see, now THAT stuff is cool. |

Perhaps you should keep your secrets, I was happy thinking the green thing was a tribble. Oh and she's right he shouldn't wear speedos. (or frontless vests) |

A beachball is tons bigger than that, dude. But it's a cute little story, anyway . . . try using the Star Wars Lea bikini, it'll work a lot better . . . yup, a lot better . . . nice little story, though. Keep up the dirty work. Yeah, I'm like you too . . . don't worry. |
