About this creation
The 2013 MOCathalon
Team MAD (MOCing All Day)

Category : 29. Tropical Paradise.

My tropical paradise is somewhere secluded, somewhere to get away from it all.

You can keep your tropical beaches - the sand gets everywhere, and who wants to lie around on a beach all day? Not me, I'd prefer a place to explore, and find the perfect spot... a tropical forest.

Holiday resorts? No thanks - screaming kids, drunken tourists...

This looks like a nice spot - hidden away, a little shade, and nobody for miles...

So I've found my perfect place, miles from anywhere, somewhere I can chill and be alone with my thoughts. Here's the only postcard you'll be getting from me!

Very authentic! Looks like an real tropical waterfall. Great storytelling. Most I like certain rockwork, and certain ankles, as well as the botanic-workout. The best!

Wow, what amazing rock work. I like how it is very jumbled but also has an order to it: just like real geology. The horizontal sections remind me of thin, harder strata in between the softer, thicker beds of rock.

I could take some tips from this build. The snot work around the water is brilliant. My only issue with this build is that it makes mine look like they are missing detail. 5 points. ~Thoy

What is this madness? A MOC by Jon B without greebles? Awesome work! One of the best landscapes I've seen, the rockwork's spectacular. Great idea of a tropical paradise as well, and I love the postcard photo.

One little Criticism, other than that, this is pretty boss! 1) on the left side of the waterfall, there is a ravine/ledge underneath a tree, my problem with it is that it is lower than water level, with too little in between it and the water. It doesn't look natural in my opinion. The water would have eroded the rock away to it, by the time it eroded the ground away to make room for the waterfall :P Great stuff man!

I'm loving the foliage! I also love your rock work, I might need to study it some. I also may borrow your waterfall technique, mid that's alright with you. The foliage is, as previously mentioned, stupendous! Great job.

It's just perfect. Can't really think of anything else to say... just... PERFECT! :D (OFFTOPIC: Next to new 8x8 trans clear tiles, I think the 1x1 trans clear tiles are in need use a reintroduction. Man, those things are hard to get)

Quoting Tim C Haha! Good stuff, Jon. It is amazing to see all the directions you can go with your builds. Not just that your imagination takes you there, but that you have enough pieces to do all these and keep most of them together. When I first saw this one, I thought I was looking at Mark of Falworth's work, which is no mean feat. Great rock work and some especially amazing craftsmanship involved in that waterfall. Great work, Jon.
Thanks Tim, it's been fun trying something different, glad you enjoyed it :) I just wish I could build at half the speed Mark does - the end of the month has come too soon!

Quoting Mark Kelso Nice! Love the angle of that upper falls. Terrific work!
Cheers Mark, seems a lot can be added to an organic themed MOC by adding a few angles. The top waterfall started off in line with the lower one, but it all looked too linear.

Quoting Chris Phipson It's mocs like this that make me upset that I can't give more than five points. I mean, the rockwork is just... wow... but then DUDE... underwater detail?!? Really!?! 5 points ~ Chris.
Thanks Chris :) I just wish I could get a better shot under the surface - I left a gap below the rear falls to light the underwater bit, but didn't leave a wide enough gap to get a good camera angle. A bit of a 'doh' moment ;p
