The best way to catch a ghost on camera is to sleep in the haunted room. This ghost snap is loosely based on a real ghost story. I grew up in a small village called Prestbury, which has the title of being the most haunted place in Britain. Some 20 or so ghosts manifest within a square mile radius. When I was a child I was most scared of the strangler of Cleeve Corner. The story goes that anyone who sleeps in the haunted room of this house, wakes in the night feeling as if they are being strangled. Research found that a bride had been strangled in her sleep in that house. The MOC shows a photographic capture of the spectre as it approaches the sleeping figure before waking them with its strangling shadowy hands.

Ah, nothing like a good shadow figure story to keep me up half the night. Being someone that has had some minor, but significant experience with possibly haunted locations, this speaks right to me. But to the build. Love the sleeping figure. It was a nice touch folding the arm under the figure's head. Gives a combination of sleeping and a closely huddled look, as though the figure is scared. Chilling and well done. |

..... Welp. There goes any sleep I was actually getting before. Live the build here though. My favorite aspects are probably the sleeping bag and the guy's ear XD Great work all around though :) |

Brilliant! I love the bedspread and the pose of the sleeping child. Both convey a very realistic feel, which contrasts so nicely with the cartoonish style you build in. Fantastic work! |

Definitely in your signature style. I like the bedspread and how the studded door contrasts with the rest of the build. |

My faves are the blanket, window, and closet designs. That closet looks like a sports locker... perfect for a boy's bedroom! So, just maybe that's the ghost of some football legend... then again... perhaps NOT! YIKES ! :)

Eeek! How anyone could possibly sleep in that room.... Nicely done.
Seriously as kids we used to go on about this story to each other and scare each other silly. |

How can our favourite toy be so scary? Brilliant
I like making the creepy and unsettling - I find if you leave naturalism as an aim at the door, Lego can work quite well in these stakes. |

Nice one David! Love the closet and the blanket. The expression on the ghost's face is excellent! If only that guy knew what was hiding in his closet. :)
He does now and I don't think he'll be staying another night. |

Well, I rated this excellent!
why?
Because of the fact that you can build this with a lot of the older lego bricks ONLY! Fantastic work! :)
I am getting more and more excited about building from basic bricks. |

Very nice! I see you've been hitting the old grey bricks too ;) Loving the expression on the ghost's face, looks totally shocked to be caught on camera! Top duvet design too.
There was a bit of invisible eyebrow work going on, and who would have thoughts duvet would be so hard to build. Cheers Jon. |

Very David! Your style permeates through. It's more whimsical than scary, which actually works. A kind of "Monsters, Inc." feel, without the strangling bit. Clever ear as well. Nice job.
I always believed a smile transmit more creepiness than a snarl and whimsy more fear than real terror - think Alice in Wonderland. |
