2013 Mocathalon- Dungeon
About this creation
Team: MAD
For the 2013 Mocathalon category 8. Redesign a Classic Lego Set.
Choose any Lego set released in the year 2003 or earlier and redesign it. Add more details, change the minifigures, smooth it out more, do what you want to make it your own!

I chose the set 4817 Dungeon . This was one of the sets I got when I was a little guy. I thought that I could make a cooler dungeon and perhaps explain the age old question: Why would you keep a chest of jewels and a skeleton in a gaurded dungeon?

The political prison has a slightly jaunty air with the blue roof.

But don't get too comfortable, because that noose represents your eventual fate.

Your guard will take good care of you. In fact, he'll do a better job taking care of you than he will of himself.

You will be forced to sleep on a stone bunk beside a chest of jewels, a reminder of the uselessness of all you were known to value.

Don't mind Stefan, or actually, do. That's what he's here for.

Your guard will feed you via a basket and I suggest you eat up. There is still a chance you can become useful to the outside world. So keep your chin up.

I have to agree with Wes on this one. I found the set a little boring. You have included some good playability here and I love the graduating slope of the base. Its just scraping up a 3. ~Thoy

Well done - nicely built, and a great upgrade and improvement on the original!

See, I'm actually going to go the other way from the other judges. I think choosing such a small set and giving it that kind of upgrade was a great take on the category. I guess that's why we have so many judges 'cause opinions vary. 4 points ~ Chris.

I'm glad I looked at the reference pic. That explained your dancing skeleton, and gave me a good chuckle. Your creation is well done, and I can follow your logic in making it bigger...but the other judges are right in suggesting you pick a more interesting set to improve. Still, 3 points you get.

Yeah, you should have gone with a set that would've given you a bit more to work with. 6094 maybe? 2 points.

I like the gallows, but unfortunately Nick is right. Good job anyway, and good luck!

Unfortunately this hardly resembles the original set at all. 2 points

Stefan has the long legs of a horseman, so he can't be all that bad! Nicely done! :)
