AT-AP Alternative
First submission - AT-AP alternative.
About this creation

Hi Everyone. I'm an AFOL who only recently came out of his "dark age" and discovered bricklink/MOCpages. After checking out dozens of creations I figured it was time to submit my first. I selected this MOC not because I'm particularly proud of it, but simply because it is my only MOC left intact at the moment! I thought this would be a good opportunity to learn how to post on this site. I love Star Wars so I make Star Wars MOCs from time to time. But my real passion (at the moment) is constructing castles.

I love Lego's rendition of the AT-AP! But I felt the AT-AP itself could use an alternative version. It just looked too bulky for a behind-the-lines artillery piece and too cumbersome to be efficient. Therefore I whipped up this replacement. i envision it to faster, more practical, and less expensive for the Republic to produce without compromising stability, accuracy, and firepower.

This view showcases the retractable stabilizers. Currently deployed, they offer stability when firing. Then when it's time to move out in a hurry, they can be retracted.

This just shows that the cockpit can open and that the gun can elevate.

Essentially the same view with cockpit closed.

This side view is meant to show the "muscularity" of the leg structure and offer a glimpse at the small anti-peronnel lasers (beneath) that would offer some self-defense should the enemy break through the front lines.

I always enjoy seeing other people's collections so I figured I'd add an image of mine. I'd estimate that 90% of my sorted pieces are visible form this angle. In this image you can also see about 1/3 of my current project. When done it will be 4 baseplates wide and 5 baseplates long, and measure 3 feet at it's highest point.

The quality of my pictures (taken with my cell phone) and the paper back drop obviously need upgrading! I'll get both issues fixed when it's time to post MOCs I'm more proud of. Again, the goal of this post is to simply introduce myself to MOCpages and get acclimated with the site.

Quoting Owslafa Jones Slick-looking Moc! Does a minifig fit in the cockpit?
Yes, a minifig does fit in the cockpit. In fact, a clone trooper can be found in the cockpit in all the pix I posted. Thanks for your comment and rating!
