About this creation
Not my normal build, but a splash of inspiration from Nick Barrett's wonderful trucks yesterday, and my son's love of construction vehicles led me to this. Consider this a little bit of fun before I hunker down to some MocAthalon building.

*smack!* Nostalgia! Lego and construction trucks were the passions of my early childhood, what I woulda' given to have a Lego construction truck of this caliber...

I like this, but that back tire is bothering me. I think if you went for a single, inner back tire, it would look more natural. the color is pretty noticeable, and kind of sticks out.

One of my four went missing somewhere between 1986 and last year when I picked the old collection up.

Quoting David Roberts A great shape and very functional looking. I like how you managed to build the body of the vehicle right to and around the top of the big roller. Nice to see the big, old Technic wheel inners being used. I agree with Cath: I find the back wheel distracing too but I can't say why. Perhaps it should have been hidden or another smooth wheel? Having said this, I did a Google Image search and discovered that mosr road-rollers have rubber tyres on the back like your design :)
As I noted to Cath, I was working to my sons natch box car. From your research it appears the match box take is a fairly standard roller model.

Quoting Nick Barrett What a lovely thing to have inspired :-) One of my trucks is missing half it's wheels...

I was sort of obligated to the back wheel set-up. The MOC was based on one of my son's favourite match box vehicles, so I had a very picky critic checking the build credentials.
