My entry into the ALO. Enjoy!
About this creation
I finally have a suitable contest entry, in the category of "Out Of The Frying Pan And Into The Fire", for Round 1 in the Amateur LEGO Olympics.
This category brings to mind a lot of irony, and so I made this sarkly ironic MOC.

We have a lone survivor having recently killed a zombie, lying nearby in a pool of trans red 1x1 tiles blood.

Our hero rests against this dilapidated wall, catching his breath.

This zombie is not catching his breath.

This zombie has no breath to catch.

But what's this? More zombies on the way?

Those rock monster arms make good bloated zombie arms. Also, the Series 1 zombie head, which honestly looks a little goofy, seems menacing with his eyebrows hidden by the brim of his cap.

Our hero turns his head. The zombies are coming.

A lingering shot of our doomed protagonist, out of the frying pan and into the fire.

Figless. The wall turned out pretty well. The burnt orange and dark tan colors are my favorite brick colors. I used tiles and jumper plates to make the piles of debris at the base of the wall.

The figs. I just realized that they all use Collectible Minifigure torsos and legs. :P (From L to R: Policeman from Series 9, Zombie from Series 1, Butcher from Series 6, Bandit from series 6, and the Gangster from Series 5)
Good luck to the other contestants! I've seen some really great builds this round!

Ohh! I like that wall! And the positioning of the mini-figs works effectively too. An excellent little vignette Patrick!
Thank you, Ian! |

What occurs when Ian's too lazy to edit his previous comment: Effective lighting too! :) |

Perfect wall! Nice.
Yeah, I went through a few renditions of a regular wall before I realized that broken felt a little more zombie-ish. |

Wow, nice work! Where did you get the burnt orange elements?
From a Harry Potter set, the Burrow. The brick bricks came from the 2012 City Advent calender. I ordered a bunch of the 1x2 dark tan tiles because I freakin love that color. |

Nice entry here! The look of the wall looks broken and like its going through a apocalypse XP
haha, yeah, apocalypses (apocalypsi?) tend to do that. :P |
