About this creation

Here you can see the angle of the wings, as well as the interesting design for the cockpit.

Close up on the cockpit area.

Comparison with a minifigure.

Mmm... greebles!

Final shot.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Finally got this posted after nearly three weeks of having this sit on my shelf while gathering dust. I tried building differently with this project; I used a lot of long flat plates held together by hinges, and used a TON of 2x2 grey tiles to smooth out the surfaces. It was quite fun yet rather challenging to make, due to my careless habits of often making unstable connections combined with a stupid mistake of leaving it unfinished on the floor...
Well, thank you for viewing, and please be sure to leave a comment!

Beautifully greebled. It is interesting that we each have a spaceship named darkstar, but have totally different construction styles.

Quoting Benhamin Eukatah Where did you get all the tiles? Its huge!!! Battle away...
I bought 50 of them from eBay ;D Trust me, it was a purchase worth every cent :) Actually, the DarStar is much smaller than it looks... everyone seems to think its near the size of SHIP but its not.

Quoting Ezra Dimas Looking at your creations I just love how you can pull off all those weird angles. It gives it a very non-lego feel. Oh, and great MOC!
Thanks! And I'm glad you noticed my exaggerated angles on my MOCs :)

Quoting El Barto ! Cool design here, Chief! It's got elements from all sorts of other ships all rolled into one. Awesome!
Thanks! Ya, this was an experimental build for me. I basically mashed a whole bunch techniques from my older ships and presto! The DarkStar.

Quoting Tim C Well, Matthew, I'm not sure how I missed this one. This is clearly your style, even with the experimentation you did with the different techniques. I love the rear and the angled wings look great. Usually I would think that there were too many grills used in one area, but the configuration of them really works. Very well done, fine sir.
Thanks Mr. Tim! Haha, it seems like I have developed a very distinct style of building now :) Yes, at first I thought it was total overkill with those grey grills, but then I thought it kinda looked interesting. And since I wanted this MOC to be interesting, I guess I kept them all on. *Side note: I think the title "Fine sir" may be a tad bit too... old for me LOL.... It does have a nice ring to it though :D Anyways, thanks again for the comment!

Quoting David the Fire Ninja Jedi Yes, the Jango Fett is rare. He only came with his ship, Slave I. That is the only place where that model appears. :) Haha, a cheesy spacecraft, funny!
Ohh really? I didn't know that.

Quoting David the Fire Ninja Jedi Epic! You have Jango Fett huh? cool! Awesome features, I love all of the cheese wedges!
Thanks David! Yeah, I heard that the Jango Fett fig was somewhat rare. I basically used up all my cheese slopes for this MOC; I guess you could call this a cheesy spacecraft!

Quoting David Roberts Great greebling and the overall shape looks fast and serious to me. I like the trans-orange canopy, which contrasts nicely with the dark grey.
Thank you! Yep, I wanted a slightly different color that would stand out amid the total grey fuselage.
