Information
The Quail really shows the progress being made by the development teams working at the U.I.S' military factories throughout our territory. The LAM-30 is a one man light Mech which is planned to operate alongside and behind front-line infantry, being used as a fire and support platform to secure key targets and take out enemy strongholds. However, due to weight constraints of having legs, the LAM-30 has relatively low armor and is prone to strikes from RPGs and other infantry anti-vehicle weapons, plus other Mechs and tanks. The Quail does have good means of protecting itself though, being armed with a 40mm auto-cannon, hull mounted grenade launcher, smoke dispensers and a missile pod holding to re-loadable rocket/missile tubes which can hold either HE rockets or AA missiles (Anti-Armor).

MAG-01
Medium Artillery Gun
The first purpose built artillery piece produced by the U.I.S. It uses the same 105mm gun on the MBT-30. However it has been slightly altered to fire at a trajectory and so can be used as a standard artillery piece but can still be replaced by a standard 105mm barrel to act as a anti-armor artillery piece if required.

Quoting Matthew McCall Great job on both these creations, you've found a good balance between detail and functionality. However, I do question the logic of having such short legs relative to such a large chassis, and the large window is a rather vulnerable weakpoint.

I just thought having shorter legs would mean a lower center of gravity, making it harder to knock over, but yes, the window definitely would be a weak point.

I like how stumpy and angular this mech is. The name is perfectly suited to the shape of the MOC: I can imagine it stumping around just like the birds. The angular parts give the look of thick armour too.
