The Bird Tree
About this creation
This is based on a painting I did back in 2002 (it is on my Flickr page - here).

Very cool. This one is different even for you. There is such a stirring quality to this build. My mind can't stop wondering what made these birds gather like that. Maybe it's just that I parked my car under that particular tree;) The color against the black tree is stunning, and I love how you made each bird subtly unique to one another. So well done, David.

Quoting David Roberts I like how the birds in both the painting & MOC have the same feel to them.
Super stylised birds. I'm trying to find the same graphic language in the bricks.

Quoting Justin Knelsen Great build! I love those birds. Oh, thanks for your invitation to your Mocathalon group, I wish I could join but I am already part of a team. Thanks again! -Justin
Understood - just wanting to invite good builders who I consider online friends first. Looking forward to seeing what you pull out of the hat in the games.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. This is a very important build for me. The first one where I feel I've found the correct translation between my artwork in paint, and dare I say my artwork in bricks.

It's so odd how your artwork (paintings as well) invite a viewer in by a lure of simplicity, and then leave them swimming blissfully in the complexity of everything going on inside. Pure provocative genious. I always find myself clicking on your work over and over again and finding something new like a brilliant piece of music. Astounding!

Lovely colors and the posing of the birds is fantastic. Just a question though, are those shadowy hands down there on the bottom right?
