I've always wanted to build a Lego version of my own car but figured I didn't have enough white pieces. I didn't until I recently took apart my Republic Gunship, Tantive IV and X-Wing Fighter. Then, she began to come together. I saw a lime green Porsche on mocpages with rubber-band based suspension and I realized that without springs, there was some serious room for opportunity. I made my own version of the suspension as well as a new style of door hinge I hadn't tried before. The doors now blend perfectly with the body and the large hinge mechanism hides beautifully under the dashboard. I doubt I'll keep this model together as its size, though accurate, makes it hard to play with and cruise around. What I'll most likely end up doing is shrinking it to a disproportional, cool looking cartoony style Stang (Like my Belair). But for a first one built for accuracy, I'd say she came out pretty well! The only downfall is the 289 V8, which because of the suspension lacks shape and volume. Please comment and enjoy!
nicely built! You're lucky i would do anything for a classic mustang (or any classic sports car)
if this is still built, it would be cool if you added a pic of it with your one :) Btw, i posted a 66 shelby mustang yesterday, could you check it out?
