Quoting Tim C Very interesting. The wolf is very well formed. I like how you went with the silhouette look with this one. Instead of trying to add detail to the figures, you just went with color representation. Your artistic vision is second to none, David.
Thanks for this Tim, and the comments you always leave me. I know I post a lot, so I'm surprised that you and a few other friends of mine always seem to find the time to look and leave me a note. Always appreciated.

Without giving that much away, I was thinking of the rules of seduction, predators and prey, goodies, treats and the unexpected. Paula Rego is hanging like a ghost in this one (http://www.tate.org.uk/art/artists/paula-rego-1823).

Another ambiguous sculpture: but then that's what makes them fun and interesting. Is the wolf real? Is it the shadow of a wolf or the shadow of something dark inside red-ridinghood? Is the wolf something from red-ridinghood's imagination? I don't want to know the answers, as coming up with the questions is what makes things like this so interesting to me.

Who can resist a story with a wolf! I even just checked out Anne Rice's Wolf Gift... must be karma or something! :)

Quoting Topsy Creatori (StoveTopCreator!) Interesting... these have somewhat of a 'shadow' feel/look to me. I could see this with 3D figures of the girl & wolf placed out from this. Wolfie doesn't look bad at all. He almost looks like he's smiling, but maybe that is what is so scarry? But then I happen to like the collie, shepard, sleding dog types, all of which retain a bit of that 'wolf' look? Then again, it DOES look as if she is feeding him goodies. And, you know... dogs can be really stupid some times, poor dears! With all these impressions myself and others have gotten, I would say you have succeeded in you goal! Cheers! :)
The idea was to build sort of shadow puppet vig. I'd love to do a little story telling with these guys.

Quoting Gale Winthrope The colors and the build are fantastic. I love the shapes you gave them. Spot on as always :)
Black and red always work. The single yellow brick helps too.

Quoting Josh B. This is really quite nice. You used simple shapes to capture two characters perfectly, and the simplicity is excellent. Very nice.
Simplicity can be quite hard to pull off without it looking basic. Glad you like.

Quoting matt rowntree You've really got a knack for spatial tension. The pieces you use always seem to be the perfect fit not only for the actual art but also the, just as interesting, negative space. Once again, great job!
I think that's partly because my tutor at art school who taught drawing to us drummed in the need to spend as much time on negative space as we did on the objects we were drawing. I think you see in my paintings how much time I give to the ground.

Quoting Topsy Creatori (StoveTopCreator!) Hey, David... my 1st comment went to purgatory, because I used used an s-word describing the 'not so clever' behavior of canines! I'm really getting annoyed with that comment editor! Anyhoo, be patient the 1st comment will show up! :)
I'll keep an eye out for it.

Trees, could make quite an interesting scene. I'll store that thought for later.

Quoting Justin Knelsen You keep getting better and better with these figures and this is definitly my favorite one yet. The wolf gives an intimidating presence and little red riding hood is perfectly sized and looks as innocent as ever. Great work on this one, very inspiring!
I was going for intimidating. I really want to takes these figures to another scale soon.

Quoting Mike Johnson Why he's not big and bad at all. He only wants to ask her out on a date, just like in the song!
Yes a date, that's what he's proposing, maybe dinner for one.

Quoting Jon B Good grief, I am now! Great stuff, forboding - or is that a pouch of wolf treats, and she's just feeding him?
If she's feeding him, I'd dread to think what!
