Darvangast the Strong stumbles upon a peculiar structure that seems to have been crumbling for years. He climbs up the side and jumps down into the unknown.....
About this creation
This is my entry for the following two groups:
My camera doesn't take great pictures, but I'm hoping that they are getting better :D
For this MOC, the text corresponds to the picture below the text.
Note, don't read the comments until you've made your guess if you want to play find the helmet!
See if you can find this! It's a new thing I'm starting. In (most) of my MOCs, in one (yes, only one) of the pictures, Darth Vader's helmet will be hidden somewhere. (note, it is visible...at least partially)
See if you can find it! Kudos to those who find it :D
Give the number of of the picture for where you think he is (say the number that is directly above the picture where you say you've found him).

Darvangast looking past the gates.
1.

Darvangast thinks to himself "I know how to get in!"
2.

Darvangast climbs up the wall and jumps into the unknown......
3.

Different views of the jump.
4.

5.

Here is how I did the lighting for the past 3 shots. Those finger lights come in handy sometimes :D
6.

Okay, now back to the build without my Sig Fig.
7.

I really like how the brick walkway turned out using SNOT.
8.

9.

10.

11.

12.

Here it is without the roof.
13.

14.

I took off part of the leaning gate so you could see more of the MOC.
15.

16.

See the mud there with the transparent gray elements? The idea came from LukeClarenceVan. I just modified it with the slopes to make it like more than just the ground is wet, some of the sides are wet as well.
17.

18.

19.

20.

I think this is my favorite picture :D (this is why I took off the gate and the roof; I'm able to take better photos of the ruins)
21.

What's this hiding in the corner?
22.

Nope, it's not Darth Vader's helmet :(
It's a barrel with a small jar with a golden lid.....what could this be?
23.

Here is the main photo.
24.

Thanks for looking, God bless!

nice ruins, you used the new bricks well.
Thanks! Yeah, I looked at the bricks and was like, "These would work well for some sort of walkway or flooring!" |

Sig-Fig:5/5 it's very original, and cool. Vig:7/10 It could use a bit of work. Presentation: 5/5 Great pictures! Personal Opinion:4/5 Needs a bit of work. Overall: 21/25 Excellent score! P.S. It's in picture 17.
Ok thanks! Yeah, after looking it over, I would have (thanks to the idea from dad) had one of the pillars fallen over. |

Excellent! I love the crumbling gate technique! Great ruins overall. Oh, and 17...or 18. Hide the helmet is a fun game. Yeah, I'm hoping it'll keep being fun as I'll have the helmet in a number of my builds. Quoting Felix Santosa
Nice details for the looks of an abandoned building. anyway, thanks for inviting me to i Brick Thanks! You're most welcome :) Quoting David Alexander Smith

---THE CONTEST GROUP JUDGING--- Sig Fig: 4 Okay, that's an intense Sig Fig. I would never be able to rebuild him because I don't own any of those pieces except the torso. Vignette: 7 Eh, It's okay. It's good, but also strange. It's rubble in the middle. You're lucky I read about the other contest so I knew what it's supposed to be. Presentation: 3 Okay, that's a lot of pictures just for one build. Even if we are playing a game. Personal Opinion: 3 I liked the game with the Vader helmet which was in image seventeen, but this is why we don't do these types of things with more than one contest per entry. It's just difficult to work with. 17/25 Oh, and I've seemed to misplace my cat, can you find him for me? http://mocpages.com/moc.php/330284 |

Very nice creation. The hiding helmet is clever, and I lime the ruins. The columns that have fallen are a great touch! Thanks for entering, your creation is being judges now.

Picture seventeen? Or eighteen... It's hard to decifer which number goes to which picture...
Yes, you are correct! It's hard to tell? It would be the number that is directly above the picture :) I didn't count the picture of just Darth Vader's head.

Great build! Everybody can see Darth Vader's helmet ;) Okay okay, I guess I made it too obvious. I already took pictures for my next MOC so Darth Vader is in it as well. I'll do another test to see if it is still too easy. We'll see :)

Great Job David! I think I know where his helmet is... On the bottom of the roof? (like under one of the cracks?)
Now I see what your guess is, it's a good guess, but that's actually a cone with a 1x1 round plate on top. Plus, you guessed when I hadn't put in that the helmet is only in 1 picture. Try again if you want :) |
