This was built for Guilds of Historica over on Eurobricks. This serves as a story to link together my last build Citadel of the Moon and be a prelude to Challenge 6 at GoH.
About this creation
After returning to the Citadel of the Moon with the body of Aran-Salath, Kha and Saladus have nothing left. Saladus dons the Black and becomes "The Black Wind", and tradition of the Aridesti Elves when a loved one meets a foul end. His sole purpose now is to find vengeance for his lost wife.
After finding the hideout of The Hand at the Kaliphlin/Nocturnus border, Kha tries to keep up with Saladus as he sweeps over the river to find his sweet vengeance.
"The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. "-V
Obviously, this was heavily inspired by DC's Twilight of the Gods. I love the traditional fantasy idea of a tower on an island near a lake/river. I also really wanted to try something with a bit more dark side than a traditional castle build.
Your such an excellent builder, I am not sure that you know this but people really look up to you (like myself). Your such a great builder with such amazing idea's and creations. Keep it up your doing great!
Really nice. The water is great (the little green pool is a particularly nice touch and one I've been thinking of using myself for a while!) and I think the minimalist landscaping works wonderfully. As you've acknowledged, it obviously owes some inspiration to Twilight of the Gods but there's nothing wrong with that and it's a fine-looking scene in its own right.
Excellent story to go along with a great build! Your rockwork is top-knotch, and that can be quite difficult when you're trying to incorporate a rounded tower. But you pulled it off, and the tower itself looks awesome too. Nice texturing with those profile bricks. I like the river, too, and you are perhaps the first person I've seen to make one of the new horses appear as if it's running without having it look absolutely ridiculous. Fine work!
