This year, the popular BBC television series ‘Doctor Who’ celebrates its 50th anniversary. I became interested in Doctor Who in 2005, right in time for the relaunch. Since then, my love and interest for this show grew constantly.
To celebrate this year’s event, I’d like to build and upload 11 small Doctor Who MOCs – the last and biggest one in November this year. Those of you who know me are probably laughing by now. I’m very skittish, therefore I might become interested in a different theme in a month or two. But I’ll try my best. There are only so many 50th anniversaries in a lifetime.

A beautifully artistic and unique tribute. I must admit, I had absolutely no idea what Doctor Who was all about up until recently; my sister showed me some episodes, and I must say, they are pretty good! |

... I must admit though I'm still a bigger fan of Tennant and Eccleston, not to mention T. Baker back in the day! Smith's okay but I'm ready for a new Doctor (and a writer to boot. Hey, maybe we could take over the show and give it the spin it needs what do you think, too much?).
Hahaha, thank you, Mike. I think after Tennant left, it was very hard for Smith to take over. I started to like him in the Vincent episode. I really didn't like season 6, but now with the first part of season 7, my hopes are up again. So lets wait before we become showrunners ;o) |

That staircase is very impressive! And yeah, that 50 year mark only comes around maybe twice in a lifetime (for some) so even though I'm not a Dr. fan (except for Jones and Bart of course) keep em coming man! ~ Chris. |

You've already heard from me on Flickr, but it's great to see this on the 'pages as well. The staircase looks better every time I view it, and the cleanness of the base works well. Not to mention the awesome TARDIS, is it the same design as your earlier version? Brilliant idea to cut the photo into segments to present a large image, it looks fantastic. |

Hi Xeno :D. Another very creative moc. The stairs are very well done – intricate and fine. I am not a big fan of Dr Who but I am a big fan of your mocs so I will look forward to this range. I am also very “skittish”, there is a saying in English – A jack of all trades, master of none. Meaning a person who is OK at many things but not a master in anyone area. I think this sums me up nicely (in life and Lego), however some people are a master in all they do ;) |

Beautifully done here Mr. X. You caught the feeling of the moment. I'm surprised you've only been watching since 05! I would of guessed much longer than that. |

Well, Mr. X, what can I say? Spectacular? Phenomenal? Magnificent? They all fit. But, that's what I expect these days when I see your name next to a work. You have built some of my favorite works and this ranks right up with my faves. You have me boggling over how you were able to use the pieces that you did and keep the thing upright. It would seem to that all those 1X1's should be toppling at any moment. Nice snowy effect at the bottom of the stairs. The tar dis looks great at the top. Very accurate. Well done, sir. |

You know, contextually, this is a work of (nearly) black & white graphic art, more than just good sculpture. If this was a Promo Poster, and I knew NOTHING about The Doc, I'd be intrigued enough about the chosen imagery to want to SEE the movie ...
That is a very kind compliment. Thank you. |

I have only seen something of the 1st Doctor, something of the one with the cheesy question marks and the new show up to last season.
My favorite was the (sadly short lived) Eccleston, but I'm still mad at the Olympic Committee for not choosing David Tennant. |

... I must ask: is the whole thing really supported by the minifigure? Or is there some hidden trickery we can't see? ;) Fantastic!
Thank you for the compliment. The ladder and the stairs were not connected when I took the photo. The missing pieces sybolises where the invisible part begins. In the episode, the staircase and the Blue Box were invisible for people on the ground. |
