1964 Chevrolet Impala w/ full suspension
About this creation
Okay, let's have a MOC party today! Great that most of MOCpages seems to work again, many thanks to whoever has fixed it and to the mods who kept cool.

This is a 1964 Chevrolet Impala, based on the frame of the Caddy, but with quite a few modifications. It's 7 studs wide, built in a bracket-and-tile style and fits 3 figs. Features are the set down windscreen and some probably new double headlights, made of binoculars. Suspension see http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=2484c01 (my dear friend Sven Jagdmann introduced the part to me some months ago).

Rims are custom chrome. I try to avoid it where I can, but here it's necessary.

Thanks for watching! Hopefully the party will go on!

Thanks a lot guys, nice to hear from you all. I don't think it's deserved, though - in my opinion a MOTD should be rather a MOC from somebody still being active here ... But it reminds me of my very first steps in the AFOL world two years ago, so I am glad, anyway. @James: I am sorry, there are no instructions.

This is all very well done. You've truly captured the spirit of the Impala in 7-stud wide form. My dad and I are restoring a red '64 Impala convertible with the white top and you've really matched it up. Do you have the instructions? I would love to build one to match the real ride.

Quoting Nils O. Cool, another great 7-wide built by the "ER0L Factory" :-) That's a lot of SNOT work and some cool details. I especially like the roof section with the lowered windscreen and the shortened C pillar, which makes a nice Coupé roofline. Oh, and I forgot the new headlights. A very clever use of the binoculars inside the transparent bricks. Great job, pal! :-))
Thanks a lot for your kind words buddy, glad you like it!

Thanks a lot guys! @Kyle: Sounds great, please post it or send me an e-mail (see homepage). You may call this "large city scale", it fits well with the modular (Café Corner) buildings. You can't do the chrome by yourself, you must buy those parts (Bricklink). Maybe you are too young for Bricklink, so you may ask an adult to order them for you. @David: Thanks a lot, glad you like them!

@TLNA: Thanks a lot, glad you like it! @Starscream: Many thanks, glad to hear that. But, you know, there are car builders who can easily switch between scales and build amazing cars in any of them. Sounds familiar, huh? I am just a minifig squeezer ... ;-)

Thank a lot guys, feels quite nice that everything seems to be working fine! @Alex: Thanks a lot! @David: Many thanks! @Joonmin: Glad you like it! @Nick: Thanks a lot, glad to hear this from you! @Benjamin: Thanks a lot, it's part of the Garage project, see http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/348955. @Henrik: Many thanks! I'm not so fond of antennas, I must say, so I didn't even try. But I guess it would be possible at the backend. Rearview mirrors are indeed a problem, it was possible with the Caddy, but here there's absolutely no room due to some snotwork beneath the tiles. No solution yet ... @Porsche: Thanks a lot pal, glad to hear that! Diner see link above.
