MELO R3: Martin Geistefeldt vs. Justin Knelsen: A Shadow In The Ruins
About this creation
Bracket: Barad-dur
Opponent: The fantastic Justin Knelsen and his entry
Category: Warg Riders

Ok, so here is my third entry for the Middle Earth Olympics. I think that this is pretty different to what most of you would have expected, mainly because the theme of Round 3 is 'The Two Towers'. But eventually I decited to make something totally unexpected, so I built a warg ridden by my favourite bad guy: the Witch-king of Angmar, wandering through the ruins of Fornost, former capital of the kingdom of Arnor.
Main reason for this is that I was in lack of required pieces. I was just able to build a black Warg wich is reasonably acceptable. As one thing led to another, and as I had so much fun building the helmet, I could not resist to make the Witch-king as rider. Hope the judges won't be too angry at me because of that :S.

Oooh nice! Some treasure! There's a golden bell and golden dishes and...yes.

Pretty happy with the Witch-king.

Whoops...yeah so here you see that I cheated a bit with the Warg...but still looks good...doesn't it??

That's it for the moment. Hope you guys enjoyed, and the best of luck to my opponent Justin ! :D

Awesome build! can't believe I missed this one. I love that you did something slightly off-topic. I think the witchking is the best one I've ever seen of bricks, and the warg is menacing. I think fornost would be an awesome place to see, if only tolkein left us more opportunity to see it. regardless, I think every aspect of the build is amazing!

Quoting Romany Woodhouse Good lord, that is brilliant! So much menace - the warg, witch-king, background and photography are all top-notch. As good as your CAD designs are, it's a pleasure seeing you work with real bricks. Justin Knelsen's entry was also excellent but I think your win is well-deserved.
Thank you very much! :D

An incredible Warg design and Witch-King (particularly his helmet, gauntlets, and torso). You're background build is most excellent too. It was close, but you've got my vote! Justin built an excellent scene, that had the category been different, might well have won through. But as I've already said, yours takes the cake in this instance. Congratulations and good luck with your other judges!

Fantastic job, a little off of what I expected but that is no matter. I really like your witch-king. I would dare say he is the best one on MOCpages, but to judge this I am looking past him to look at your Warg. I really like your warg, his legs and body are very good and overall he looks fantastic. You have my Vote!
