While your smooth rock work ALMOST won the day, Burri's techniques (namely posing the horse without using the new bendy legs, the bird nest and the bush/mushrooms out of Han Solo hair) and more smooth landscaping brought him the victory by the absolute SLIMMEST of margins. It took me almost 15 minutes to decide. He got my vote, but way to bring it and congratulations on getting this far in the 2012-2013 MELO. |

As Ian has said this was close, but I prefer how you did it, I especially like your landscape better. You have my vote. |

Ugh. This was an extraordinarily difficult match to judge. You and your opponent built almost identical scenes. While I really like your use of rusty orange, lots of official LOTR figs, and some cool trees/rock-work, Burri gets my vote. In my opinion some of his building techniques (particularly applied in his trees) are slightly more organic and complex. His inclusion of a few subtle details (like the bird's nest) also helped sway my decision. But as I said before, this was a very close call; I could still see this one going either way. That said, good luck with your other judges! |
