AIS J-12 Jastreb is a modification of my earlier advanced jet trainer.
About this creation
It's a single seat multi-role aircraft, though it is intended to be used mostly as a ground attack aircraft with capability for short range interceptions. On the AIS N-11 page Locutus said that it reminded him of T-45 Goshawk hence the name for this one - Jastreb=Goshawk.

You probably won't notice it right away, but the whole aircraft was shortened by two studs, the cockpit area being the one mainly modified.

AIS capable engineers managed to fit in a simple radar inside the nose. And that thing just bellow the nose is not a cannon, it is a IRST (infra-red search and track) system. This one is similar to the one on F-14, but many new aircraft have one on top of the nose instead (i.e. Eurofighter, Gripen, J-10 etc.). IRST is intended for passive tracking of objects without turning on the radar that gives away radiation. Blah, blah, blah...

Installed radar means J-12 is capable of carrying radar guided missiles. You can also note cannons installed on both sides of the aircarft, and the pilot with the helmet mounted display which enables him to shoot without moving to the optimum firing position.

Here is the armament option with laser guided bombs. Note the electronic counter-measure pods on wingtips.

And finally, I made a carrier version, the J-12P Jastreb B, based on Locutus' Sea-Galeb.

The performances are much the same as the N-11 on which it was based, if anyone was wondering. Thank you for your attention, and as always rate and comments are welcome, but if you are using this MOC please post a link to this page.

Our grim faced pilot is off to an assigment.

Oh both of those are cool! I see alot of F-18s(possibly Canadian) and F-16s, and not to mention I live by a C-130 base so I see plenty of those too.

@ Tomas Usually it's G-4 Super Galeb's or a single MiG-29. @ Locutus I'll see if I can improve it any further. Thank you for the comments.

Looks great, but i think the nose and the cockpit canopies need further improvements. At your Galeb it looks a little bit smoother.

Hvala! Occasionally air force jets fly over my neighborhood, but that's rare. However I don't miss any open days or airshows that are held in Serbia. :-)
